Anybody have one on their truck? Since I'm gonna be runnin the plate for the nitrous and adding a 14x4 filter I'm gonna have to go with a cowl style hood. I havent seen anybody with one of these which I like! :D

It also comes with an isolator plate which is another thing I want in order to get the Cold air affect back.

Think 3.5"'s is too big?

Got a pic or a link? I'm still not sure if all of my crap is gonna fit under the hood, we'll see. My hood does have a cowl, but it's like 1.5", maybe 2". The Indy intake is a lil shorter than an M1, but I'll have the nitrous plate, and a spacer to clear the tb linkage, and then the UNI filter is 4.5" tall. Might have to find a shorter filter.

hey Dave, is the top of your air filter flush with the weather strip on the cowl?

this is mine w/ a 3" filter & off-set base. i've got about 1.5"+ of clearance w/ the AAR cowl hood.

If you search the left hand menu you can find it there.

http://www.carhoods.com/ It is a bit pricey but they have a mail in rebate also . Its probably gonna be around 750 -800 shipped.

Did Damon crawl under your hood to take those pics?

Well, as you can see in my sig pic, with the filter and tb mocked up, the filter is right at the weatherstripping. And that's without the 1" nitrous plate, and whatever spacer is needed to clear the tb linkage. When I get back home, I'll put the hood back on and see what my actual clearance is, it might make it, we'll see. Otherwise I'll put a shorter filter on there and figure out what I'm gonna do. I really want to keep the UNI filter, since it doesn't restrict flow at all. Maybe I'll put a prostock scoop on :jester:

The SRT-10 hood has plenty of clearance for a 14x4 filter, as far as I'm aware you should be able to sandwich a nitrous plate in there as well.

I'm currently using a M1-4bbl w/2bbl adapter, Zex M1-4bbl injection plate, F&B 55x52 throttle body, and a K&N 14x3 filter - looks like I still have about an inch or more to spare when I close the hood, but I haven't tried the planter test yet.

What's the planter test?

What's the planter test?

Go to Michael's/Hobby Lobby/etc. - they sell bricks of olive green foam that are designed to sit inside vases/pots, you "plant" fake plants into them, it keeps them upright. The foam is designed to collapse with relatively minimal pressure so the stems can be pushed through easily.

Take a brick of this stuff that's just a little bit thicker than the space you want to measure (if it's too thick it won't squish properly), set it on top of your air intake on the side(s) you need to measure for clearance, and shut the hood. The foam should squish down, now you can measure the foam and know exactly how much room you have to work with.

..looks like my scoop sticks up past the wiper cowl about 2 inches...

the weatherstrip on top of it barely contacts the bottom of the hood.
