Figure i'd start a build thread. The kid had pulled a few fuses out to put in another vehicle before selling it, when i got it home, replaced all the fuses, turn the key on, stereo was almost full blast and the song Black Betty was playing on the radio, the name just kinda stuck.

00 R/T, 208500 kms.. shitty straight pipped, dual exhaust, way to much red "accents", way to much plasti-dip, some rust and a hood scoop..

It looked like this this for about 10 mins after i got home with it..who does this?

Can you explain what is going on with the emblems? I can't even understand what approach resulted in that mess.....

Did some work; plugs, wires, PCV valve, cap+rotor, oil change, air filter, ported/polished TB, got the NIGHTSHADE off the headlights, painted that red dash piece black until i get an unmolested one, cut the exhaust off, put a muffler on with a turn down tilted in front of the right tire.

Definitely looking better, interior looks like it didn't get butchered up too much.

Makes you wonder what the Hell some people are thinking or drinking doing stuff like that to a truck.

That's another reason why I insisted on a bone stock truck.

Joejax, ya some people have no taste, shoulda bought a 90's civic if he wanted hoodscoops' and a bright red interior.

Origianally, i got this truck for the motor, i was going to drive if for the winter and then just swap it out one weekend, i didnt care about anything else really...but now, i sold the ram, so now shes going to get most of my attention.

Also, thnk i've discovered my neutral safety switch CEL issue, found some smashed wires on top of the trans/back of the motor.. going to repair this weekend, etest and safety in the morning.

fixed the wires over the trans, but that wasnt the issue, found 3 open wires under the fuse box in the engine bay. Have to thank Duner for pointing me in the right direction!!

The winter definitely took its toll on the half-assed plasti-dipped body job the p.o gave my truck. i drive this truck to work 6 days a week so im going to do the body in stages.. its so bad i dont even want to post pics of it.. i have a few though, ill get more this weekend.

scored a set of new fenders mounted on a truck in the junkyard, still in the black factory primer.. 100 for the pair. there almost ready to go on. only got 1 pic for now

Looks like its starting to clean up pretty good. As dark as that reservoir is I'd be bleeding the brakes and inspecting all the lines and such for damage. Maybe do a coolant flush for good measure since I'm sure its just as neglected. As far as the 14x3 i'm just running an edelbrock cheapo from pep boys with a drop base on it. Cost me like 20 or 30 bucks. I figured I'd spring on dress up pieces when I do the top end.

all fluids including power steering have been changed except brake fluid. the lines were done not to long ago, but not correctly, that will be a winter project, along with the top end of the motor.

i was looking at edelbrock ones on summit, price is right.
