I'm just wondering if some types of oil filters can cause a low pressure condidtion on startup. Usually I use WIX oil filters but on my last change I had to buy a NAPA Nascar select, and since then when I leave the truck overnight and go to start it the next morning it takes a couple of seconds for it to register oil pressure. It will even set the check gagues light on for half a second.

If I buy a new WIX filter to switch this one out how much oil could I expect to lose?

Thanks in advace!

Let it sit overnight again, and change the filter. You can expect to lose maybe 1/2 qt. And yes, some filters will cause that if the anti-drainback valve isn't working properly.

pressure sensor is easy enough to change out.
Get yourself a mechanical guage for the best results!

how did you connect that mechanical pressure guage? Did you buy some sort of adapter?

Also how do you go about getting the stock oil pressure sending unit out? Is there a special tool?
