What my build will be consisted of will not be crazy but do wanna know besides the trans gauge what other gauges do I need if any additional ones are needed ? Set up is pie's top end kit stage two, mids, 2800 converter, and 4.56 that sums about all.

whatever gauges you want to monitor.:jester:
are you ditching the factory gauges totally?

in one way or another, I aboslutely must know:
Tach
Speedo
Volts
Oil Pressure
Water temp
Fuel level

Other's that are nice to know:
Trans temp
Oil Temp
Fuel pressure
AFRs (wideband O2)
Vacuum/Boost

If you're interested, I have a pair of mechanical oil/trans temp gauges. I'd let them go for $40 for the pair ($20 ea).

thanks for the input , but no im not getting rid of the factory one. def getting the trans temp, oil temp = getting your send me a PM with info. And what are the AFRs (wideband O2) benefits and what do the readings let me know? got no boost trying to go all engine before that.

Benefit to AFR is that you know you're not so lean that you melt pistons, and not so rich that you wash the cylinder walls of oil and kill your ring seal. Idle/cruise you want 14.7:1. WOT around 12.8:1 NA.

Not necessary for daily use, but critical when setting up your tune. I use an LM-2 to datalog while working with an SCT tune writer. After that I remove it because day to day, your tune shouldn't change or need adjusting. That's why I say it's a 'nice to have' gauge.

the narrow band gauges can piggy back off the factory sensors, but those narrow band gauges are nothing more than a light show.

and you cannot unplug the sensors because the computer needs to read them while the truck is running.

to do it correctly you have to add a stand alone wide band O2 sensor with it's own gauge.

yea, payment received. Thanks.

all the gauge makers offer wideband O2 gauges that typically come complete with the O2 sensor.

or you can go with an LM-2 datalogger with wideband O2 sensor for around $400.

or, you can go with the new SCT which has a datalogger built into it, but I don't think they have a stand alone O2 input. That's a question for Ryan, Sean, etc. (the SCT guys)

look at the vendor forums here to find an SCT dealer/vendor to help you answer those questions

so i am a gauge short for installing my pillar pod and i plan to run lm2 through sct for tuning. my friend is insisting that i still need to purchase a air/fuel gauge for the interior for day to day driving. I'm trying to explain to him that the 250$ auto meter air/fuel isn't necessary, due to the fact I'm tuning with lm2 and sct.
