This is a thread about the Black Dog.
It admittedly is NOT a show truck. It's a walk softly and carry a big stick sleeper kind of truck. I can't win THIS contest because the other trucks are simply too nice. CBE is about Performance. We've ALL put tons of hours and dollars into our trucks. These trucks are a labor of love for sure. This thread is just to show some of what's been done. It's a work in progress, never to be completed project that's an exercise in what CAN be done in your garage if you really want to. It's all about CBE and making it work anyway.

Yeah, most of it is hand-fabbed in the garage. It's not as shiny as the expensive and admittedly nicer store-bought race parts. None of it is chrome. Very little of it is polished.... but it all gets the job done.

Here's what it looks like when prowling the streets...

Thanks Danno!

I meant to go take some more pics of it - but couldn't get out of the house.

I think you know more about it than most... but I didn't think a book about Black Dog would change anything anyway. Hahaha

Most of it is! LOL

Well, every single wire, hose or thing that makes it ugly under the hood is still there!

I still say one of the baddest trucks on the planet in so many ways!

The best is always at the track for the uninitiated, when he lines up against the rowdy big block something or other, and the person next to you goes...that little Dakota doesn't belong out there with that right until the lights come down...then SEE YA!!!

LUV THAT Thing Buddy!!:r/t smile:

Thanks Gary!!!!!

My favorite pass ever was against a roudy '55 Chevy with a big-block, 871 Blower, huge lumpy cam, loud obnoxious open headers, straight-axle and huge slicks hanging out. I couldn't hear or feel mine running from the time we started the burnouts until about 1,000' down the track. I treed him, got a better 60' and outran him by 10 mph. That felt great - then the 20 people that came over to my pit stall to see what was under the hood felt even better!

Way cool!

The wiring is a little tedious - but well worth it in the end.

And yes, the black beast is running great. I'm easily entertained - so I enjoy how much more lumpity it sounds when I start it up "cold" - as in 45° vs 110°! hehehe
