Well, to be honest, this is going to be a bit of an unusual TOTQ thread. In no way shape or form can I take credit fully or even majorly for this truck as it sits. I have to give props to the person who built it and who basically brought it to life, Josh Klein, aka madboy.
So, with that said, lets take a look at the beginnings of this truck. All things have a beginning, and regrettably, the beginning of this truck lies in the death of another.
http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad227/MoparDanno/Joshs%20RT/MadRTafterwreck_zpsdbf04be0.jpg (http://s938.photobucket.com/user/MoparDanno/media/Joshs%20RT/MadRTafterwreck_zpsdbf04be0.jpg.html)
This was Josh's original truck, Mad RT. He had picked me up for lunch one day, and was showing me the new shiftkit that he had put in the truck. Some old guy in a Crown Vic turned in front of us while we were accelerating... and you can see the end result.
So Josh went on the hunt for a new truck. He found a 99 DA RC ( my influence Id like to think :) ) in Ohio, so he flew back to Ohio, and drove the truck back. 101k miles on the clock when Josh got home with it. We proceeded to do this to it.
http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad227/MoparDanno/Joshs%20RT/MadRTpartout2_zpsfa17ac29.jpg (http://s938.photobucket.com/user/MoparDanno/media/Joshs%20RT/MadRTpartout2_zpsfa17ac29.jpg.html)
That's me on the far right, Jody in the center, and Lloyd stickin his ass out. We transferred all of the good stuff from the blue truck to the new truck. This included Hotchkis, exhaust and headers, Viper seats, mist gray interior and a whole slew of other things that I am sure I am forgetting. He also spent a ton of money on new parts for the truck. Completely rebuilt the front end, all the brakes, hubs, new brake lines ( I know cuz I sold most of it to him.. lol )
http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad227/MoparDanno/Joshs%20RT/JoshBurnout_zpsa4665581.jpg (http://s938.photobucket.com/user/MoparDanno/media/Joshs%20RT/JoshBurnout_zpsa4665581.jpg.html)
THEN, Josh got the racing bug. HARD. Not that he hadn't had it before, but this time it was serious. So, he came to me with the original block from the blue truck, and he wanted a motor built. Now keep in mind, this was 05. So, we built him a stout lil NA 360. He wanted to go after some NA records with it, but we started a lil milder. The shortblock we went full tilt on, and stay VERY lightweight. Probe pistons, Total seal low tension rings, Eagle I beams, and a 71 360 "X" crank that was one of my old pieces. The crank has 40-50 hours of knife edging and lightening done to it. This motor revs VERY fast. About 11.2:1 comp with the original heads, 10.8 or so with the current ones. He raced It this way for awhile, and made quite a few passes on that exact combo. Best pass on a 150 shot was 11.39 I believe.
But Josh decided he wanted to chase points. So he got ahold of Jess Dale, and had Jess setup a new top end for the truck. Different heads, and a MUCH larger cam. Then Josh went to SMR and picked up a transbraked 904, and put that all in the truck. I think he still holds the NA 360 record at 11.55 with that particular combo. He also competed in the 05 National Meet at about this time. Here are a couple pics of the truck from the Meet.

At the drags, racing against me in Barney. How often can you say that both of your trucks have raced side by side :)

And at the autocross.
http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad227/MoparDanno/Joshs%20RT/JoshAutoX05NatMeet_zps3cf9991b.jpg (http://s938.photobucket.com/user/MoparDanno/media/Joshs%20RT/JoshAutoX05NatMeet_zps3cf9991b.jpg.html)
After that, he wanted to detune it back to a street truck. So Pat and I came over to his shop one weekend, and we "detuned" it to its current state. The 904 had already come out, and the A518 was in. We took the big cam out, and put a 210x in. The 4bbl M1 58 F&B combo came off, in favor of a ported stocker and a 2bbl M1. 39# injectors went away in favor of 24# injectors.
This is the state the truck stayed for awhile. It had sat for long periods of time before this, and at various stages of modification. So it was never really driven too much. And honestly, I think I ended up with most of the pieces that came off this truck. It always seems to work out that way at least :)
Then in 2013, I had decided I needed to make some moves on getting Barney going. But I also wanted to get something that I could play with as a race truck, so I didn't have the urge to go over the top with Barney, because I never wanted to put a cage in Barney, and at 11.59, it was knocking on cages door. So I called Josh, and asked him If he would consider selling the truck to me. I figured there wasn't a better truck I could buy, because I know so much about it, and had actually either sold him, or helped do a lot of the stuff to it. About 2 weeks later, he called me back and said yeah, it was time. We agreed on a price, and I picked it up about 2 weeks later. Ginn and I drove over to pick it up from him.
http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad227/MoparDanno/Joshs%20RT/DSC00312_zpsb4e030f0.jpg (http://s938.photobucket.com/user/MoparDanno/media/Joshs%20RT/DSC00312_zpsb4e030f0.jpg.html)
This is how I got the truck. In great shape, with a lot of goodies. Now keep in mind, I have most of the stuff that Josh had taken off this truck over the years as well. So realistically, I couldn't have picked a better truck for me, and I thank Josh for letting me have it.
As the truck sits now, I haven't done too much too it. Swapped my CF Cowl on to it from Barney, and put the Reflexxions cowl on Barney. Also put a set of my 20's on it. I did some changing around in the engine bay as well. I cleaned up the plug wire routing and put my 409 Taylors on, and got rid of the K&N FIPK in exchange for the 14x5 K&N with extreme top. Right now I am stockpiling parts to return the truck to its full glory. Future mods and what I already have to put on this truck in the next few months:
Full Aeromotive A1000 fuel system with 22 gal alum cell. -10 all the way to the y to split for the rail feeds, and -8 for everything else including the return.
246/252 hyd roller cam that was in it when it was running 11.50's NA
39# injectors
4500 PTC convertor
Indy 360-3M intake
1600 CFM Dominator flange TB
Flyin Ryan tune
Moroso trick front springs
Caltracs and Monoleafs
Set trans shift points at 7500 rpm
JD longtubes
3.5" dual exh
NX 200 shot plate system
CF Front bumper
Please keep in mind that this motor has had hundreds of 1/4 mile passes on it, and in Josh's estimation, at least 100 nitrous passes as well. Its been a damn workhorse. I might decide to freshen it before I go full tilt on it just to be safe ;)
Ok, pictures of it how it is right now :)
Couple of exterior shots.
