well many of you know I spent the last 7 months building a turbo kit for my dakota and had some issues at first, too much boost lol, well I have everything running great and it really hurts me to think about this but I need to free up some cash because im working alot less, Either way I am maybe offering the complete kit, everything minus sct or your tuning method...

every part im selling has less than 1500 miles on it

genuine Garett GT42 70mm journal bearing turbo with a gt35 exhaust housing .68 ar. it spools very fast and pulls very well, rebuilt by precision turbos less than 1500 miles ago.

turbonetics 38mm wastegate with multiple psi springs

turbonetics raptor blow off valve.

turbonetics boost controller.

extra boots and clamps

all oil lines and fittings

custom made turbo manifold from shorty header, and matching on drivers side,

exhaust crossover is built out of original style y pipe, comes around back side of motor to the front of turbo manifold with high quality v band connectors and high quality flex joint, not cheap chinese ebay clamps.

complete custom made 2.5 inch cold side intercooler piping

front mount intercooler which works very well, air intake temps never go over 138-140 even under longer boost runs....

47lb injectors from pie and 2 bar pie map which is just a gm 2 bar.

this system can be bolted on top to bottom within 2-3 hours depending on skill level

Comes with everything you would need to bolt on your truck and have someone throw a tune at it and be driving in a few hours,

only thing you would need is just a bung and a punch to put on oil pan for return line, easy breezy.. and exhaust manifold gaskets..

Bolt on and go....SOLD SOLD SOLD

Why are you getting rid of this? I am contemplating on selling my supercharger setup. I would be really interested in it. IM sure I can get 2000-2500 out of my setup, less you wanna trade.

I have an offer on trade but if I had extra money laying around I wouldnt even consider selling it. I had a baby and a build at the same time so I spent more money than I wanted lol..

I just want some of my money back.. I have about double in turbo kit than I have it listed for:sad:

Dam I wish I had the money this would be great with my 408

Fyi I hope you guys know this turbo is good for a basically stock r/t. It is actually undersized. For a 408 you might as well toss out the turbo right away, in fact you could use it for twins if you had the right hot pipes that's how small it is. A new unit properly sized will be at least 1500 dollars. A 38mm wastegate is pretty small...it would work well with 20-30psi but you really don't need such a small gate with just a 2 bar map so to control boost better you'd want a larger gate.

Jason, I'm sure the thought of a turbo is cool...but you'll end up spending so much money to make this right it'll blow your mind. This turbo on a 408 cube engine will never make 550hp or 700ft/lb. Remember Jim went from a 76 to an 82 (the major difference being the hot side though) and went from 530ish to 600hp? That may have even been with less boost, and that was a 360 not a 408. For a 408 you need even more hot side.

Sorry to ruin the thread. Food for thought, though. Do some homework before making such a huge change. Boost isn't just boost. Camshaft profiles should be different, turbo sizing is clearly a whole new ball game to you, wastegate selection and location is also a new concept. Having been through 4 different turbo setups myself I've learned a lot in the past few years. I'd hate to see anyone have high hopes and be completely crushed after spending thousands of dollars because a damn gt35 turbo belongs on a 2 liter at 30psi with a 38mm gate. It is really a slap in the face just reading this thread.

I for sure mentioned the.68 hotside it makes normal egts and intake temps on a 360 motor. To say it doesnt work is just wrong this is a fun driving setup. Not a a 82mm no boost till 3000rpm setuop... it works just fine on stock motor. If not air intake temps and egts would be super high..the exhaust housing could stand to be like a .96 on a 408... 422 whp on a stock 318 at 10lbs seemed adequete for me.. you could spend 3000 building a 408 lower end or you can bolt this up 7psi and have fun all day.. this was not built to be full race power potential... but the facts prove its a good little setup..

So yes its small for 408.. but very good for 318 or 360 if your not trying to make 750whp. I never realized anyone with 408 was looking at it.. worst cast .96 gt35 exhaust housing $300 and it would be decent sized then....The way it was built wss to spool fast on 318/360 motor

You did not ruin my thread, you have some information to share and I understand that, but I dont know why it would be a slap to the face? this setup works just fine and makes fun power and is reliable, Im sure if someone put a bigger turbo on it they could make more power, but I drift my truck so fast spooling and reliable was important to me....

I drive it hard and would never intentionally try to sell something that did not work, maybe its not as efficient as if I had a bigger turbo but for the power levels I made it is perfect....

A 408 can not simply use a .96 a/r housing. The turbine wheel is tiny and will choke the motor regardless of the housing. Nothing says a bigger motor needs a larger housing, either. You could very well have a larger housing on a 360 than a 408, the difference being that the wheel will be smaller for the 360.

Makes sense.. I will only vouch for a 318/360 then 408 buyers be aware you will need bigger turbo.. thanks for the information..

Thanks.

I'd hate to see this get ruined: 562 rwhp, 733 rwtq 2002 R/T Under Construction

That is all. And yes, your setup would be lots of fun for someone that has a stockish 318/360.
