I'm am wanting to smooth and paint my mirrors soon, any advice on how to do it best would be appreciated

Prep with SEM, sand, prime, wash rinse repeat till they get smooth!

I work at a body shop so I can prime and paint them myself, I just want to know how u guys prepped them

A lot of time with sandpaper. If I remember correctly, I started with 500 to get all the texture off. Then 800, then 1000. Adhesion promoter, primer. 2 coats of primer with 1200 grit in between, 2 coats PR4 2000 in between, 3 coats of clear then wetsand.

All I did to mine was scuff w a green scotch brite pad, wash w brake cleaner, then filler primer and 400 grit paper to smooth the texture, finally BC/CC paint.

^this^ The other guys go through to much work to get to the end result, a quality filler primer will fill the texture easily! Make sure they are cleaned very well then use a good adhesion promoter...

And....Clean the shit out of them before sanding...Otherwise you are just rubbing wax into the pores.

Brake cleaner FTW it's the same chemical they use in dry cleaning solution. Takes off EVERYTHING!!
