I just bought one from Robby when I got his brackets for it. It was $150. The recall price is no longer in effect, it could have went up in price again, or that dealer is just marking up the price like crazy!

Thanks, what else do I need? Just a fan controller? Any suggestions. My truck is a 98.

Bracket to attack to radiator, you can fab your own, controller for 97-99 trucks, and a shroud which is optional. I never run one, but others seem to love them. Mine runs fine without one.

I used a relay kit from Painless Performance p/n 30115. It uses a temperature switch to activate the fan 185°on 175°off or on when the a/c comes on. Took about 10 minutes to wire up. I think Summit has them for about $90. 1 1/2 years and no problems.

Friggin' R/T should put one of those on his truck. The Viper fan setup, as it was installed, is sketchy at best. We didn't do that one. :nono:

I'm enjoying my HHR fan.

You called a dealer? I'm surprised the thing wasn't $3000. I can't even get a plastic pin from a dealer for less than $8.

Any specific reason why you switched from the jeep fan to the hhr fan?

No reason really. Just experimenting. If people don't want to go all out and make brackets for the GC fan, the hhr fan is a lot easier to mount up and still cools extremely well. When I installed the GC fan I also used the GC shroud. I had to cut the GC shroud at the bottom because the GC radiator is taller than ours. Right now the shroud is being molded together at my local body shop. I will be putting it back on when I get it back.

Is there an ideal temp for the fans to come on and off? With a 180 stat? I'm guessing 185 on?
