Does anyone run rotella (intended for desiel but ok for gas) oil? I am looking for a 15w40 or 15w50 oil and they have a 15w40. The truck has oil pressure issues on start up (at all tempts) and sees cold weather (PSU), so I think 15 is the thickest cold I can go.

Use to run this in my bikes cause it doesnt have the detergents like most automobile oils do, so would not effect the clutch and it was cheap. I don;t think I would run it in my truck though kinda partial to Mobil 1 10-30.

Ive been running it for awhile. Try to keep all my vehicles on the same oil so its easier to keep stocked.
I use the synthetic though.

My dad is a diesel mechanic and swears up and down about Rotella in Diesels.

You need to run one of the newer high mileage synthetics.I believe you can get them in a 10w40 or 15w40.

Shell gets too much of my money as it is. I use Castrol GTX.
Mobil 1 is OK too, but for the money, I don't think you're getting anything special. I have run both in different motors and I can't tell the difference when they're torn down, so I use the cheaper of the two.

It's good stuff, I'll be running it in the new setup. $20 for 5qt jugs at Wal-Mart, sometimes you can catch 'em on sale for $18.
