My parents bought a Sony like that about 2 years ago and it has been great. As far as I know they have not had any problems with it.

I've got a Sony Bravia 46" LCD HD flat screen and a 32" Samsung LCD HD TV. Also 2 37" Vizio HD LCDs. I would rate the Sony and Samsung as GREAT, both excellent TVs.
The Vizio is pretty damn good for the price (about 1/2 the cost of Sony or Samsung)
Also, when you first get your HD TV, if you don't have Cable or Dish Hi-def boxes, hook up a set of rabbit ears to the antenna input. If you are in a city or close, you'll be surprised at the amazing quality Hi-Def signals you can receive!

i didn't know that about the rabbit ears. pretty interesting!

my uncle just built a house and has a tv in every room. 50" sony LCD in the den, 52" panasonic (i think) in the "Man Cave". all the bedrooms have what looked to be about 37" Vizio's (which I agree on the quality for the price).

A friend of mine in Miami said he bought a Sony Grand Vega back when they first came out and loves it. said he wouldn't go any other way. he actually got about 3 or 4 of his friends to buy one after they saw his. i mean, they literally went to the store and bought one on the way home from his house. wish i could do that...

yeah, there's a Sam's just the other side of the freeway from me. i plan to go to Sam's, ABC, Circut City and Best Buy. i may not end up with that one, but i sure do like it. i checked it out in store the other day.
