i have a 408 with 10.3 comp pistons and i want to buy some heads, i am currently runnung stock heads. som eguys on here are selling the 2.02 r/t heads, but are the eddys better flowing? i plan on putting a 236x cam in and sell my 408x. any help would be great.

Cant go wrong with either but the eddys are lighter

if it was mine, id go Eddys..... $ for $ cant be beat in the long run.

Eddys and R/Ts can both be ported to flow about the same, but out of the box the Eddys flow better. I'd run the Eddys, they're lighter (58lbs lighter than the R/Ts). You'll get a lil bump in compression, about .3-.4, so you should end up around 10.9-11.0 which should still be ok on pump gas. If you didn't want the bump in compression you could always have the chambers opened up (if you're getting them ported) and leave it at 10.3.

the reason i ask is because some guys have the r/t heads for sale on here used and no one has any eddys for sale used, i dont care if they are used as long as they work fine

Eddy heads on typical 408 setups are 10.5:1. There's nothing wrong running that on pump gas especially with how much cam you're looking at using. Eddy heads have better valves/valvetrain components as well. Ported vs. ported their performance will be up to whoever ported them.

i love my eddys had john at southeast do a nice port job on them there the 2.02's with a nice angle valve job
