So I am debating on which lights to put in my bed. I have a few ideas, but not sure.

I plan on putting a constant wire with a switch in my cab.

The ground will be on a safety switch, like this so it will only turn on when the tonneau cover is open, but it can still be turned off when open if need be. Just got this bad boy off ebay.

One idea, is getting one of the bed light kits made for trucks.

or

Another idea, is putting in a fire and ice light bar on each side. I would just run the white for the main switch, and put a rocker switch in to make it red, red and white, or just red.

Another idea, is put led underbodys. I wouldn't run all 4, just 3.

Problem is, don't know how I would mount. These would have to be bolted/screwed in or zip tied and I don't want to do either, the others above can be taped on.

Enless I get the more expensive thinglow one which is 7 colors with a remote.

What's your take or opinion?

Any one have anything like this? If so, how do you like it? What did you do? Show pictures.

That's a good idea, it would be nice to see the inside of the bed when it's dark out. I like the first two kits you listed.

I have been wanting to do this for forever. I have a switch like that installed and all the wires ran but i havent come across anyone selling a set of white led strips for cheap yet. I dont want to spend a bunch of money on something that is a small luxery.

I got a tailgate light bar from rampage for 25 dollars at a jeep event in york last weekend, can't beat that deal.

Mine are very similar to BWDKRT's. I used a $39.00 underbody neon kit from Vatozone. I mounted the neons mounting clamps under the bedrail using selftapping screws. I made a small aluminum bracket for the switch and mounted it under the bedrail by the tailgate. Since I have my stereo amp mounted in the bed I just tapped into the power block for the neons.

I am seeing if this guy will sell me just the long parts and controller.
Wish me luck. I like the functions of it too.

Woohoo.

I really wanted white, but figured it would be blueish if I did the Fire and Ice light bars, plus I thought it was white, and not blue, because I didn't read, and bidded on my phone..

oh well.

im pumped

Well got both my Ground Switch thing, and LED's last night, and today drilled a spot on the tonneau cover rails in the back corner for it to go. I have to connect the bolt to a ground, since it's not grounded here, but it works for being discreet, for as well as it can be.

Also, started a Bolt On Drag Bar...

And my buddy Steve came over to reweld my one front shock mount, which broke on the way to Fokis on Fire... well work, before the show that day.

Well I got the side ones on today, and all wired up, and ready for the 2 against the back wall. Problem is they don't shine out as much as i'd likkkkkeeee, but for $25 I can't complain. Look pretty neat IMO so, it's whatever.. Still wish they were white, and not blue, but oh well.

They turn on when the tailgate is about 6" up in the back, and I have a main shut off switch in my center console.

Still need to clean up wires, but I am going to when I do the two last ones.

If you're looking to put those in your truck bed, how would you connect it to the lighter?:jester: You could pretty much set it up how SlammedR/T did his. Ground it, and run a line from your battery, to a switch that's also hooked up to the lights.

im gonna hook it a battery pack. and hide it in the bed. youd never even see it.

plus it helps run the cooler to keep the beers cold or you have a reserve in case your battery dies.
