I have a mopar performance PCM I have had for years. I used to own a 1999 Dakota R/T and when I totaled that truck I pulled the PCM out. Anyways I have a 2000 Dakota R/T and I have the SCT and have no use for the mopar PCM anymore. I wanted to try to sell this PCM so I figured I would test it to make sure it still worked. I plugged it into my 2000 Dakota and the odometer says no bus, the check engine light is on, and it says my overdrive is off. Any thoughts?
99 PCM won't work in a 00

Alright thanks. I figured it was something like that. I just wanted to test it before I tried to sell it.

Any chance you know how to tell if the mopar chip is security or not security?

It's not a "chip". It's a PCM.
The only way to tell is by the part number.
