Well, post up ...about going... or those who are "out". I'm on the fence.

This is such a great show, and I may be going without my R/T !!! I finally got together a few bux, and got an appointment with a shop that had done some work for me, before.
Well, they've had the truck for over a week now, every time I check with them, they're onto something else that "might be the problem", but never is...
They've got all kinds of diagnostics machinery that I don't have access to, so I figured they'd find something.

Even if they get it ready to roll, it hasn't even been so much as washed, much less 'detailed' for a show. Or road tested. And after rolling in dead last year, or dying on the way home, those are scenes I don't care to repeat.

So, this totally sucks, I can't imagine what they're gonna charge for their time, the show is in a few days, and I'm out of options.

Well, hope to see you there, jim

Where did you take your truck?

Just to a local shop...they seemed confident, and even excited to 'get her runnin right' for me. They now think it has to do with the KBell "optimiser", after replacing the coil and the map, and rerouting a few vacuum lines [only previous code was "APS voltage too low", code not appearing now, problem still is]

So, now I'm about to email KBell and see if they have any suggestions. [KBell's phone line was continually busy when the shop tried to call.]

I can remember back to when having this veehicle was fun....

The fix that I've read for that on other boards is to get rid of the optimizer. Seems most folks running the KB had problems with it.

KB doesn't support our trucks anymore. Good luck on that. Might be a good time to get an SCT 2 bar setup.

KBell NEVER really supported the 360, lol, they put out the kit, and I think alot more ram owners went that route than daks. But it certainly hasnot been the 'easy' route it was supposed to be, and tech support is non existant.

With as little as I know about superchargers, or even engines in general, I am without any clue as to the computerized end of all this.

I can't just bypass it, can I? When you say get rid of, you mean change to some other stand alone computer tuner?

Yup, I would toss it and go with a 2 bar SCT setup like Sean mentioned.

I can explain at Carlisle if you want. The other Sean (Powell), aka Hemifever will be at Carlisle too. It would be a great time to ask him about getting yours SCT'ed. I personally would throw the KB computer in the trash...

I can't go, I'm going to PSU this weekend for arts fest.

My father and I are looking into SCT tuners as well, think somebody could talk to sean about a NE chapter group buy if jim decides to go that route as well?
I need to get rid of this flat spot off idle, now that I drive it everday, it continually pisses me off.

Does sct have the tuner for a 98 GC 5.9?

Ask Sean directly. Hemifever@aol.com

I'm not sure he wants to do another group buy after being mobbed by the last one.

So how big is this show, I've never been there. I will be driving right past there, on my way back from Cleveland. I'm going out there to pick up a basset hound rescue pup. Maybe I'll stop on the way back, if I could possibly see the whole thing in a day/afternoon.

The fairgrounds are pretty big. Those shots cover maybe 1/4 of it in the middle. You could walk all it in one day from opening to closing, but you'd be dead. There are tons of cars and vendors. The site covers 82 acres.

It's really big, tons of old Mopars. There's also a swap meet and lots of Vendors/Manufacturers setup booths. Stop by if you can, it's worth it.

Which Day are you driving thru? Friday is kinda a 'set up day', but by mid afternoon things are pretty much in full swing. Saturday is the best day, yeah you'd need at least a half day to see all the good stuff. And on Sunday, by mid afternoon everybodys pullin out, so don't show up late on a sunday.
