I posted before that I bought one of these from Billet technologies. They are listed for the Rams, but they looked like they would fit. Got it in on Friday and installed it right away. Pretty straight forward on putting it on, but if you are hesitant to cut your stock dipstick then don't buy it. You will need to trim about 1/2" off the top enf of the dipstick where it's inserted into the t-handle to get the hole to line up. This does not affect the reading on the dipstick though. It completely replaces the plastic t-handle and the steel "collar" that goes around the tube. You still use the stock rubber piece that slides inside the dipstick tube and holds it in. I was hoping it came engraved with "transmission" or something like the oil t-handle they sell, but it came plain. So if you want it engraved you will need to specify that in the order. I think it looks a little plain not engraved. But it fits and looks 100X better than the stock piece of plastic, and better than any other t-handle that has ever been made for these trucks.

You can buy them here.

Don't be scared by the instructions when they say you have to saw off your stock t-handle. It's held on by a roll pin. You just have to trim the dipstick itself. I used a pair of heavy duty wire cutters to trim mine. Took about 5 minutes from start to finish to get it installed.

Also, I highly recommend if anyone orders parts from Billet Tech to make sure you send them a message or something to say you are buying them for your Dakota. I've tried getting them to set up a Dakota section on thier site before. They had it up for one week and took it right back down saying there wasn't enough interest to keep it, but they never advertised it was there on any Dakota sites.

On top of the transmissiojn dip stick handle, the oil dipstick t-handle fits our trucks, the low pressure A/C cap, and the washer fluid cap they sell for the 2006-2010 Charger/300/Magnums fits on the '97-'99 washer fluid bottles as well. The powersteering cap might possibly work as well, but I will need to verify before I say to buy one.

Yep the oil and transmission work good I also installed mine on sat. I ordered mine same time you made the first thread about them. They look amazing. I did have to do the same thing with the trans. I snipped the end to get the T-handle to line up with the pin hole on the dip stick, but was an easy mod.
Thanks for the insight.

I'm a fan of my trans T-handle...to each his own I guess.

Ditto, got the same caps and handles on my R/T. I think I bought them 7 or 8 years ago.

Can you still buy them? And with that trans handle you still use the stock steel "collar". The Billet Tech one is one solid piece.

I'm not sure if you can still buy these ones or not. I think the last group buy on them was done by Steve a couple years ago, and I think there was some issues with it.

I noticed that yours has a new collar too, that's nice. I've never had any issues with this one using the stock collar, though it has always seemed to fit loosely on the tube :idunno: Is that on purpose...for venting reasons?

I do like the design of that washer fluid cap better than mine. Mine seems to just sit on top of the reservoir. I honestly can't believe it hasn't fallen off yet, as it takes no pressure to lift it off.

It fit's loose because it's a separate piece. You could probably make it fit tighter by changling where the hole is for the roll pin. But that would have had to been done when the t-handle was made as if you tried now you'd only suceed in ovaling out the hole.

No, you misunderstood what I said. This handle fits perfectly tight to the collar, but the last I remember the stock collar fits loosely to the dipstick tube.

Ahh, yeah, this one fit's a little tighter than the factory one, but the rubber piece that goes inside the tube is supposed to keep it in. You want a little gap for venting as you mentioned which is why the rubber piece has a groove in it.
