looks good but i've never understood why people put so many tv's in a car or truck in some wierd places where you can't even watch em. I guess I'll just keep mine on the dragstrip and not worry about going to car shows b/c i'm more of a minimalist and try to keep things simple.

its for the show purpose- more things that are done clean get you more points- it's always neat to watch the kids go crazy seeing the t.v.'s everywhere

I like the way the center console is 'integrated' into the dash panel. Is that vinyl? And the multiple tv thing is a concept I don't understand, either.

the console is wood and fiberglass molded into the factory dash panel- then textured and painted to match

Nice placement on the speakers. Do they have grilles? TV's in doors, yea don't get it. Can't really use then unless you tilt your head and pull up a chair outside. Do they not judge on functionality? I really like the door panels, very nice. Well put together, not overkill like some stuff.

the speakers do have grills but I like not having them on there. and the T;V's in the doors are for show points only- plus the wow factor for the kiddy's. Thanks for the comments

Might I suggest some trim rings or something just to cover up the screws that hold the speakers in. Maybe fiberglass painted in AF. That would look nice I think.

Yeah mirrors have been changed- still deciding if I want to paint the handles or have them shaved. Here are some updated pics. also the speakers are monted flush in the door panels so no go on the trim rings however now you got me thinking :). Here is also an updated picture of my battery cover, I also changed out the fuse box cover with one from billet pro, removed the stock radiator shroud/tank, and added billet pulleys but it's not yet in the picture. I'm also waiting on the billet caps and t-handles from the group buy to put them on. Enjoy:woot:

By trim ring I meant and insert between the metal ring and the foam on the actual speaker. Maybe a 1/4" think. Would be tricky to make I think but would really look nice without the grilles.

I really like the wheels that you have, they are clean and not too cluttered like some of the things that people put on trucks and suvs these days, what kind are they?? i hate to copy someone but you cant always be original

No- they are 6 lug- Paid 10.00 dollars for all 4 of them- won them in the raffle at the dakota rt nationals meet. sold my old 20's and slapped these on.
also with the stickers- to each their own- especially when sponsors want to have thier name displayed. like Memphis and Dynamat. Also the kenwood windshield banner is gone and I removed some other stickers from the side glass. the only stickers on the truck are dynamat- memphis, dodge truck motorsports, and on the back glass there is a large M- mopar logo and a dakota-durango.com sticker- none of which I feel pull any attention away from the truck

It's not any different than doing all of this to a SLT. The R/T Only has cosmetic differences and suspension. Everything else is the same. I had some Ideas for the truck when I bought it and most are complete. My latest is the engine bay which is almost complete. Here are a few pics for ya.

hole truck looks great man! you did all the fiberglass yourself? Im starting a project myself double DIN in the dash and tvs in the visors need some ideas on how to do it.

If your turck is a 97-2000 then a double din in the dash is a piece of cake. Plenty of room for it already. It's just having to modify the dash cover. Also if you plan to do visor screens then just buy a set with them already installed. I've been doing this for quite awhile and the stock visors are not screen friendly thats why I went with the pre-made visor screens. Have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Hey dude hats off to you the truck looks wicked. I just did a little custom install this week, I had a thunder form and traded it for a msd ignition, so instead of getting a tool tray to hold up the back seat I used som 3/4 inch MDF and made a floor to flaten out the back area I removed the 60 percent side and used that spot for my enclosure and put the 40 side back and the floor supports the seat now, I covered it with some under lay to give it more of a stock look and the covered that with automotive black carpet. It turned out better the expectedan and hits really hard. I just have a alpine type X 12inch with a 1000 watt V12 amp and a flip out alpine DVD. I was wondering how you would geta double din in the dash, you said it was easy and if you could give me a little info or list of things to do I would really appreciate it. Ill be adding some picks of my install cause I am really impressed with the end result. It was the first time I have ever done anything like that, besides simple wiring and dropping a box in the back.
Thanks for any help you can give, and again your truck looks mint.

I was wondering do you have any experience building sub enclosures for under the back seat of the RT if I want to keep my back seat. I really only want to put one 12" sub underneath it. Im not a big sub guy so I'd like to keep some space for the emergency stuff too. Thanks:biggthumpup:

if you want it to sound decent stick to a 10"- there really isn't enough air space for 12" I've made one small enclosure for the back- I did two 10"s in a ported box down firing(meaning the subs faced straight down towards the carpet- and we moved the seat mounts up higher. Then later I said screw it and gutted the back out for more subs

Ok, so if you point the subs down toward the carpet, itll sound better. But what kind of material to I need in order to make my own enclosure and where would I get it from, I want it to look legitimate and sound like a pro did it.

just look on line for a thunderform box for the dakota- I can't explain how to do everthing in writing- it's more of a visual hands on learning. A good place for you to get some tips if your wanting to learn is www.fiberglassforums.com and www.smd.com and go to the forum there.

Because every other Truck at shows seems to be a $50000 low-end truck recreated to be worth more than it really is.
Have you looked at any show truck magazines or even been to any shows and looked at the trucks?
It really annoys me when you have this gorgeous truck sitting there and when you approach it, it has the bottom end-4-banger in it that won't even get the truck out of it's own way in the parking lot. Even worse is when they either leave it 100% stock or try to dress it up to be something it could never be.
I really like this a true Show & Go!! bet he get Lot's more points for the under-hood stuff he has done than them POS 4-bangers I see all the time.
Hell even the custom Rangers and S-10's you see are all 4-bangers and they both have pretty stout 6-cylinders to work with!!!

How the hell does a Jar-Head have time to do all that work?
You have to do deployments to get the $$$$ but that takes away from the time to actually do the work?!??1
I know the scenario too well. Either not enough $$$ or Not enough time.

LOL- yeah thats how it was when I was in but I've been out for a couple years now- Now I'm a Federal Officer for the DOJ. still have swing/rotating shifts and unscheduled overtime but I still have more time to do my own things now. Eventually I move up and have the nice 7-330 shift with all holidays and weekends off but that will still be awhile.

Nice truck man! Looks awesome! Engine mods and engine bay.... SO SWEET!
Right now Im working on getting Pioneer to sponsor my truck. I had them sponsor my first truck 3 years ago and I had sweet stuff in it! I am going for a stealth install now.
I have all Premier stuff in my truck. Deh-p 510 ub, 6 3/4 components up front, 6x9 in back. 800x4 amp hidden behind my rear speaker panel (where the speakers mount i cut a hole and mounted it inside there) And I am still up in the air about the subs. I have 2 10's in a sealed box sitting on my back seat but I am thinking about making a fiberglass box to hole 2 12 inch shallow mount subs under the back. What do you think?
Not too much air space but I am thinking about making one non seperated enclosure. May sound a bit sloppy compared to my individually sealed 10's not but i would prefer all hidden.

Remove the rear tray and build a down firing box if you want to keep it clean. then just mount the seat ontop of it. I did that in the past and it sounded great and was also very stealth.

I is what I am thinking. Is there enough room for 2 12's back there? I havent measured too much yet. I need to see how much air space I can get out of it.
