Thinking about throwing a b&m shifter in the truck and instead of hunting around for a center console, was thinking of making my own out of plywood then get it wrapped in leather with a stainless steel overlay going down the center. Anyone have anything similar?

Yep! have to test it one last time. the console isn't heavy, it need to be solid though weighs as much as the stock one in our truck, well i guess its heavy now that I think of it. LOL Oh well looks better than the stock one.

Yea I hate the jump seat. That's heavy too so its not like I'd be adding weight. Probably make it in a few months. How did you mount it to the floor. I was thinking a few pieces of 1"-1 1/2"steel; one in the front, middle and back, in the shape of a U. Each side goes to the side of the console then the bottom to the floor.

same as what I used accept aluminum angle mounted to floor, reason for thickness on wood is for the screws not much for them to grip the wood with out going thru.

A little different now, had some hydrographing done to it to clean it up a little. The 2nd picture is how it looks now, still need to get a leather boot done, but thinking of getting a crown royal black bag and adapting it as a shift boot.

lunchbox... soooooo. How much you charge to make one of those consoles? I need one with just the metal showing. It would be perfect in my 01 withthe silver theme.
