It seems odd to know that an aluminum casting would seep. Cast iron, yes, aluminum, not so much, but you never know I guess.

Did he change over to Fel Pros?

Man that sucks. I would be so pissed. It seems like the last coouple of folks that have built motors using the r/t heads have had nothing but problems out of them. Makes me wonder if they were the factory seconds that they were trying to get rid of since they are on backorder or no longer making them (this is what i heard but I dunno for sure)

Yeah not happy at the moment. My Eddys have a porosity hole in the side of one. Leaks coolant under any kind of presure. Hope Edelbrock takes care of me. So for the build I have had a bad intake manifold and now a cylinder head. I hope nothing is bad in hte bottom end!

The crime would be if the heads were extensively ported. :goodluck:

i wouldn't think that would matter since it's the outside that's leaking and not in the ports.

couldn't they just fix that by heli-arcing that crack shut ?

Hell if it was my shit I would want new unless you already had them ported. If i did I would not be a happy camper.

As cast

If they won't do anything for you, I imagine the hole could be TIG welded shut. The welder would just have to pre heat the shit out of it and use a pretty heavy duty welder with a water cooled torch. I welded an intake manifold that was broken and it was all my air cooled 175 amp TIG could muster. It got the job done nicely, but it was HOT!

with the correct pre/post heat, filler, skilled welder and procedure.... anything can be fixed.

doubt you wanna go that route so press for a new set.....

New head in the mail. I am not satisfied with Edelbrock customer service it took way too long and way to many phone calls to get this done. Oh well glad to be back on the right track again.

Who did you purchase them from? My Eddie heads came from Advance Auto Parts believe it or not. I had one that was bad and had no problems at all returning it to the store and a new one was drop shipped to me.

The CNC machining on the exhuast ports had shifted so far that it actually went past the flats that the headers/plates seal too. Would have been major exhaust leak.
