I hooked up an auto meter water temp gauge and auto meter sensor my stock sensor and gauge are unplugged I guess it's messing with my computer because when it's warm my truck asks like its flooded I have to hold it to the floor and it starts right up. If there's a way to keep my auto meter gauge and hook up to the PCM can someone give me an idea how to do this thank u

I'm certain that Autometer requires it's own dedicated sender. I've never heard of someone tapping into the oem system to run an autometer gauge. Perhaps someone else will chime in with their thoughts.

You can't unplug the stock sensor. It is nessecary. Return the coolant sensor and any associated wiring back to stock.

So there is no way took hook up an after market water temp gauge up at the same time I understand that is an nassesity for the PCM to have that info from the stock sensor for it to run correct, my question is should I just forget about hooking my auto meter gauge up and replace that gauge in my pillar pod with another gauge ?and if so what other gauges won't work

I'm going to drill and tap another port in my intake that I can hook up the autometer sensor and I can run both the stock and the autometer sensor at the same time
Thank u

Yeah that's what you have to do.

depending on your intake setup, there might be a open water port that you have a pipe plug in. Just put it in there..

For those of you with an M1, I just drilled and tapped a 1/4" NPT thread on top of the bypass hump (see pic). It's the small brass sensor. No need to remove the manifold to do it either.

Nice!

Do you have any more pictures of your truck? I think it looks really sharp, the yellow lip on the black wheels looks great. I don't think that same look would look any good on mine. Looks great in your sig pic!
