what do you guys have aftermarket wise. Im thinking about getting a set to go with the viper seats i have. My girlfriend is all about always wearing a seatbelt and since i switched seats out to the viper seats the stock seat belt doesnt lock into the viper buckle and i aint putting the ugly stock buckle onto the viper seats

I put the stock buckle on mine. Doesn't look bad. Had to drill the hole out bigger to fit the viper seat mounting bolt.

I put Corbeau 4-point harnesses on my truck when I put the Corbeau seats in. Thought I had pics online, but I don't and truck is 2K miles away right now.

How did you mount them? Do you have a roll bar?

Same thing I did.

as much as i love the corbeau harnesses in my SRT, around town they can be annoying to put on and off all the time. i have found passengers either don't like them or don't know how to put them on. a normal belt is nice to have too, and i am glad the factory belts in the car still work too.

in the truck i just fabbed the factory receiver on to the seat brackets when i put the corbeau seats in.

I've had lots of different SFI belts over the years....

This last set of Corbeau belts are the worst pieces of shit I have ever used. I seriously doubt I'll even keep them until they expire they piss me off so badly. They are just a PITA to buckle - and seem twice as bad when you have a helmet on and are in a hurry.

I have a piece of angle iron bolted to the back of the cab using the child seat tethers. So one lone piece that goes all the way across suing all three tether mounts to hold it on. Then one hole for each shoulder belt drilled into the angle iron and the shoulder belts bolted to that. Drivers side can only use the harness as there was no way to keep the stock seat belt "latch" and run the lap harnesses withouth the lap belt rubbing on the stock latch. Passenger side you still have your choice of harness or stock seat belt as it was easier to make that work. I have no problem putting the 4-point harness on or taking ot off. Doesn't take much longer than putting on a normal seat belt.

Have you checked out Crow Enterprizes?
I have their 5-pt. harness w/rotary cam lock. Nice piece.

$158 + shipping.
You can get them re-certified for $50 + shipping.

Glad you didn't say "bolted to the floor by the seat bolts like the stock belts were"

often times you see guys who don't spend any time at a track get racing belts because they want the look, but don't know how to mount them.

mounting a 4-pt harness to the floor behind the seat is a sure fire way to cause a back injury in a crash. the belts need to be anchored at, or above shoulder level.

Nope, did my research before I mounted them to make sure they would pass a tech inspection and be somewhat "safe" as the only belts being used. They aren't mounted 100% correct, but I made sure the shoulder belts were installed within the correct angle to pass.

Reviving an old thread here, any pics on how the lap belts were mounted?

On my CHarger seats they are attached to the factory lap belt location. When I was running the Corbeau seats with the factory rails I had to get a little more creative. No pics to show how I did that though.

I'm having a hard time trying to locate a good place to mount them

I can't say I ever found a "good" place for them, but I got them mounted. I couldn't adjust them once tightened down.

I'm thinking of making an angle piece that goes from one seat bolt to the other and my mounts on to that

Passenger side I used the stock seat belt mount backed with a large washer and nut underneath the cab. On the driver's side I sandwiched a couple plates on the floor board.

On both sides I used L brackets to mount the belts too so they can swivel and pull in the direction of the belt...

I'm trying to figure something out, if I made some L brackets and bolted them to my seat bolt locations, I can then use my crow enterprise eye bolt mount kit

That's what I use for the crotch belt, if you make an L bracket for the lap belts that won't work.

Bolt something like this to the floor board using the stock seat belt bolts and bolt the seat belts to that using grade 8 bolts and nylock nuts so the belt can swivel.

This bracket is bolted to your stock seat belt holes or is bolted to the floor of the truck with sandwiched plates.

Btw, that's what I had planned as far as the L bracket, only I was going to put the eye bolt thru it and just clip the belts on

Your belts will be pulling on the eye bolts at a 90 degree angle but I guess it would work. :idunno:

What you don't want is what this dumb ass did, the belts should pulling in line with the mount.

Looks OK to me, grade 8 eyelets right? The key is in the strength of the L brackets.

Disclaimer: I did not sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Yes grade 8 eyelets directly from crow enterprise, I'm gonna either get some thicker aluminum angle or "L" brackets, or mild steel, & powder coate them

Don't use aluminum, my L brackets are 5/16" thick steel, so small they weigh nothing.

I don't think it would be needed.
