Damn to bad they wont just sell the prototype ones to pro stock racers. Making them sign a disclaimer stating you can't sue them, and they are stripped down models. Sighs. Dan

The Test mules and Pre-Production units are Not given VIN #'s just tags that specify manufacturers usage of the Unit, they are legally required to destroy the unit after all development work is complete.

The Drivetrains and other parts are often recycled into other in house test mules or Prototypes undergoing developement....but occassionally are destroyed as well.

But the Body and or Frames have to be Destroyed, a buddy of mine that is on the inside sent me some pics once of a small Fleet of SRT-10 Rams that
had to Crushed after they were used for developement of the SRT-10 Ram's.

Pre-Production units are Given to Tech Schools and Racing Programs with an aggreement that they can't sell it or put it on the Street for any reason, just use it for training purposes or strip it and turn it into a Race car.

A buddy of mine got a New Sebring this way when he got sponsored by Mopar
for his Super Gas Program, he uses one of my old 318's as a Test engine to sort out the chassis in the Off season or as a backup engine should one of his expensive race blocks have to be pulled for repairs.....
