View Full Version : Site is back up, but we lost 30 days.

Due to a fatal error with the operation system on our server we had to do a fresh install, and use a full backup instead of a incremental backup. Due to the error infecting all incremental backups the only full backup was dated Nov 14.

So unfortunately everyone will have to re-post or take off where you left. I'm going to have to remake the Caltrac group buy, so even I'm a little pissed.

Also.. If you registered on this forum as a new user after Nov. 14th, you will need to re-register. All register info for about 120 new users was lost. Your posts were lost too. You will not be able to post here until you register again. Please re-sign up for the forum using the same user name. We will get you in as soon as possible.

But atleast we are back up and running, and some more goodies will be coming soon to the site and hopefully a speed increase.

Again sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thank you.

Sorry guys. We've been having some growing pains (issues) obviously. We are still trying to get things upgraded on the back end of the site that you can't see beyond the forum. Once those have settled down the site will be faster and hopefully a whole lot more stable. Please be patient with us until then. Thanks.

Damn, and I was keeping the one with your flow numbers in it!! You'll have to repost all that crap to your build thread, especially the comparison chart you did.

Does this mean Adobe Dave will have to jump right into install pics of his rollbar instead of teasing for days first?

No shit, that thread was interesting as hell. Oh well, we can all just send injectors to Chris and have him test them and do the math for us :jester:

That thread made me wonder about all of the 30, 42, and 60 lb injectors around here, were they ever tested before tuning to set up the basics in the first place?

Were guys just talking mega squirt or just injectors?

Chris was using his knowledge from ms, stock injector testing results, the ford calibration data to calculate the new inj offset and battery correction for me. Still scratching my head because I was lost on the steps to do so. Need to see it live I think.

Glad to see the site back up.
Maybe we should do what the farmers do --- invest in some Cropp insurance.

Yes, since that was set up after the 14th, we lost it all.

All the garages got wiped out as well.:mad:

Yes I had to start from scratch with 3.6 vb, upgrade to 3.8, and install all the mods i did before. So it was all lost. I don't think its to bad though, I was able to fix a few bugs while doing the reinstall anyways. Its ok its stable now, and we shouldn't have any problems with the forums.

The only downtime we MIGHT see will be for a few hours when we upgrade the server. I'm still working on trying to get PHP5 installed, and when we upgrade the memory all that should work together to speed up the site, and once PHP5 is installed I have a few mods that need to be installed which will also help load times.

Same here. Seeing a lot of 'Waiting...dakotart.com' and 'Transferring...dakotart.com'. Of course it was like that for me before so really not much difference.

When 150 guests and 50 members are all refreshing at the same time, thats a huge load on the server. This is why we are in the process of upgrading the server to handle more load.

And im trying to do most of the refreshing!!

User

Refreshing the page more then once does not make it load faster. It actually slows it down even more. Every time you hit the refresh button it sends a query to the server/database to reload the page. Sending 15 of them at once from one person and then another 200 from everyone else creates a large load. Click refresh 1 time and wait. Hitting in more then once does nothing but make it worse.

Just saying... lol.

I've noticed since the site came back up, I have to log into the site about every 30 minutes. I check the "Remember Me?" box each time, but no luck.
Any ideas?

Also, when I click on "Mark Forums Read", I get the following dialog:

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

It works for me. I think your browser still has some of the old cache. You will need to delete your cookies, and cache for this website and try it again. To delete cookies in firefox go to Tools>Clear recent history> select cookies and/or ALL options> and hit clear now. Also hit the CTRL key (hold it down) and press F5 at the same time. This will reset the cache on this website.

In IE you need to go to Tools>Internet Options> (Browsing History tab) click delete> Select cookies and/or all option and hit Delete.

Hope this helps.
