i have a 1999 r/t cc that is lowered 2 inches with exhaust, throttle body spacer and a airraid poweraid cold air. Im getting my liscense next year so im trying to put money into it so it will be a nice high school drags truck. I already race jr.dragsters so the faster the better. what should i buy to get the best performance with this truck?

I would start with selling the t/b spacer, it's not doing you any good.
I'd put that money towards a nitrous kit. You can buy and install a bunch of mods($) and nickel/dime your way into the low 14's/high 13's, or you can just go for the throat and slap a kit in it and call it done. After the nitrous, any other mods will really shine out. Nitrous Express offers a good "wet" kit for our trucks.

you can get into the 12's pretty easy on nitrous. I recomend get an m1 intake, headers and full exhaust, bigger tb, and few other small boltons and spray it with a 100 shot and your right around a 12.5-13. You will need a set of drag radials. Btw if you spray more than 100 make sure you get it tuned right our you may be building a new motor.

A bone stock motor will do just fine, as long as the kit is setup properly. I'd limit it to a 100 shot though (like I did, when I had a stockish motor).
For an example: A stock motor with all the bolt-ons put me at 14.0-14.2. A 100 shot dropped that to 13.4 and I wasn't even hitting it out of the hole.

hehe maybe :burnout:well if you blow it up might as well make it better right. I don't think my truck liked the bg m1 flash spraying a 150 shot on 93octane gas on autolight 3923 plugs. It ran awsome on a 100 shot though.

The kits are tuned pretty well already. In fact, the jets above 100 are really fat. Many of us actually trim the fuel side back on a 150 shot.
I know you cooked your motor with nitrous, but didn't you say you had a nasty backfire because your system was armed during the burnout?

I had over 200 passes with 150 shot with the fuel pill trimmed to make it run leaner. Not so much as an MSD box or any other devices. Not saying it was the right thing to do, but I never had any issues. Stock longblock. Nitrous was my first mod. Went 14.000 @ 94 on a 100 shot with sticky tires, bone stock everywhere else. :woot:

Yea I think thats what caused most of the damage but as I was looking a little closer at the pistons i have 2 more with stress crack that were old they had carbon deposits forming around the cracks so it was already a ticking time bomb.

When i put the kit on my truck i went all out and bought a bottle heater, purge, and everything you can think of. I would recomend getting a feul pressure saftey switch at a min.
