Has anybody lowered their Dakota using the DJM set-up? The front is dropped 2" using Lower Control Arms and the rear is dropped 3" using Hangers and 1" Solid Steel Blocks. I want to run this set-up wil Bilstein shocks as well and from what I understand the front shocks need to be stock height, while the rears need to be for lowered trucks. I would love to do the Hotchkis system, just don't have that kind of cash to put forth. Any advice or comments are appreciated.

My truck is lowered with DJM. I don't have the blocks installed though. I just have the hangers in the rear. Mine is 2'' with hangers and 1'' with blocks minus the blocks so 2'' on all four corners. I did not install it but none of my shocks are stock. I do not have a c-notch but i do have some tiny bump stops.

Any tips or tricks on removing those rivets? Ordered the DJM kit last week, still waiting on all the parts to arrive.

i ended up useing a angle grinder and grinding them down flush w/ the frame and then just tapping the rest out this was the quickest way i found, i tryed to drill them out, that would not even work, and then a sawzaw which was to big to get in there!

I also have a djm drop, with the blocks in, left virtually no suspension travel. So I removed them, truck is "low enough" with out them. And around here, the roads are more potholes than pavement, so the front end is "choppy" around corners.

Oh, and don't forget to get the alignment done, asap, after changing the arms.

Here's how mine sits on 18's with, I guess, about a 2/2 drop. BTW, old picture, too.

Looks good. Thanks for the tips. I got the rear kit in this past weekend, but the front arms are on back order should be coming in during the middle of the month.

just wanted some help on getting a good suspension kit for my truck. i just bought my second r/t and dont plan on making the mistake of selling it like i did my first one. problem is that the suspension is pretty much done. i plan on keeping this one for a while and wanted to know what kind of suspension is good. dont really know much about vehicles, more a sound guy so any input would help.
thanks

Well, the best/most popular/most expensive is Hotchkis, but they discontinued kits for our trucks a few weeks ago. There might still be some available, you would have to call them. Other than that there is DJM, Ground Force, Belltech, Springtech, etc.

I have a total of 320 into my drop. I used hotchkis springs front and rear. Does that help ? they pop up on here and ebay etc. maybe wait it out a bit ?

I just finished installing the DJM kit this past weekend. I'm real happy with the look and stance. The ride however is a little rough, gets you real close to the bump stops. I need to have my exhaust reworked as one of my tail pipes is now hitting the axle. I'll get an updated picture up in the coming days.

cut down the rear stops a little or get some that are not as tall. I don't even run bump stops on mine mainly b/c the only thing I haul in the bed is the nitrous bottle and the roads are pretty decent around my parts.

I took out the rear bump stops and installed some bumps stops that about about 5/8" tall. What shocks are you running? I installed the Belltech street performance for lowered trucks, don't know how i feel about those for the back end.
