For those who dont know what the R/T rumble is, please refer to here
http://www.dakotart.com/oldsite/rtrumbles.html

For anyone who is interested in sending me things to put in it, this is what im looking for
-Quotes based on racers/racing/dakotas
I came up with 2
----The Heartbeat Of A Racer Is The Rumble Of His Engine
----A Racers Heart Is Only Matched By The The Rumble Of His Engine
They can be reversed and or changed
But i need more, as long as they are decent

-Ill do some feature trucks, maybe 2 per newsletter.
************************************************** *************************
If you want to be a feature truck, you will need to send me the following.
-Your name, age, area you live(age and area optional)
-Make, model, year, of your truck
-Mods to the truck
-A write up of why you chose a dakota and how it came to be the truck it is today(the better the write up the better chance it has of ending up in the newsletter)
-Pictures, must be no smaller then 800x600 and try not to be larger then 1600x1200( i can resize if needed)
************************************************** *************************
-How to articles, with pictures if anyone has any. Or even without pictures.
-Pictures of meets, previous meets, small local meets, what ever you have pics for.
(For national meet pics, please state the year and location of the meet)
-If anyone knows of any good sites to get dodge updates from, that will help.
-TRACK TIMES, preferably 1/4mile times.
-Any letters that you guys want to write either to the site/members or to the mods/execs. Revolving around the upkeep of the site/club, how you guys enjoy this place, a thanks to the members, whatever you want to say.
-A LIST OF THE MEMBERS THAT ARE ATTENDING THE 2008 NATIONAL MEET FOR SURE....
-And any up coming updates for the site and or meets, or anything the execs/mods would like to add
-A list of supporters

And anything anyone else can think of that should be in the newsletter.

All material can be sent to my email, since my inbox is only so big
My email is Kbabiasz06@yahoo.com

The faster you guys get the stuff to me, the sooner I can get the newsletter together, the sooner I can get it out:biggthumpup::woot:

Just a suggestion. Is it possible to make the R/T on your header in the original R/T font?

I'm going to be sound-deadening my cab with Fatmat here soon....could probably do a write-up with pix on that....or when I finally get around to installing my return fuel system....*sigh*

what do you still need from people

All kinds of stuff, Pictures, any meet pics, or car show pics, 1/4 Track Times, Still need feature trucks, sponsors(but i can get these from admins) the whole shabang, the only info i have is on the 2008 natl meet. I have no info on anything else what so ever.

How to's and tech articles are also needed
Members other mopars are also welcomed

thought of a couple things you could throw in there...
-Possibly welcome new vendors to the club as we get them signed up, or add them down the road.
-Any new products out in the market (like new spintech long tube headers), or new products vendors carry. Also any sales/group buys vendors are having.
-Introduce new president and executives of the drtc.(also secretary, vice pres, etc.) Info on how long they've been members, about their rides, whatever?
-Also introduce new members to the club from 08+ (probably won't have all that info yet though)

go dak durango and then to the media section steve has hundreds of pics archived there.. he also has 1/4 mile times in the racing section..you might also consider deciding on someone to feature and contacting them by pm and suprise the rest of us with the results..a small sugestion there are several charter members here and one of them could tell you some of the old stories about the club..

a couple of more things you have taken on a thankless job that nobody has really wanted..I guess none of us are the literary type hell a bunch of us me included aren't even literate.. so i will thank you now for your efforts and wish you well..

:biggthumpup:good suggestion, but the info on the execs is somthing i have to get from them, or they have to send it to me.
As for the media, i just realized dakdur has the media last night, after i posted this, so i will be using it

And as for vendors and/or products, you guys will have to help me out on that cuz im not up to date on that kind of stuff

not to change the subject, i went to a car show today and a guy with a 1999 viper gts with a supercharger and some smaller upgrades, was very impressed and knowledgable of the dakota rt and dakotas in general, and how the 360 and dodge dakota helped in early viper development, such as the shelby ak-1 dakota which was a twin turbo 360, used as a viper engine test mule. might be a interesting subject to do a write up on

Update of post 1

I am looking for people to particapte in the magazine. However the magazine will only be availble online for now and will only be available to Dakotart.com active members. Members who participate and give me stuff to add will get a special edition issue and if you are not a member you will still get the issue you participate in.

As of right now i have 2 issues in the works. the first one will come out mid to late july and the 2nd special edition will be available sometime after august. I have 3 feature trucks for the first issue and 2 feature trucks for the 2nd. I also have the Execs of Dakotart.com adding things to the magazine along with a list of supporters. I have one person doing a "members other mopar" section. And i have a cover. So at teh moment its doing well.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now if you would like to participate, these are the things im looking for

-Quotes based on racers/racing/dakotas

Just a thought, if you do the magazine, or online version of it, put a drag strip time slip section. Than list for that month, or quarterly depending on how many magazines you publish a year, just stick the most recent time slips on it. Dan

Was going too, But by the looks of it, this isnt going to come to issue. Prez and vise Prez were suppose to send me stuff, 2nd feature truck was suppose to send me stuff, 3rd feature did but it wasnt enough, person was suppose to send me a members other mopar stuff but didnt. So i have 1 1/2 feature truck articles, a cover, and thats it.

Hell i even sent out reminders

I was pumped to do this for you guys, but its now looking to be a flop.
I said when i first stared rolling with the idea for this that i would need members participation and a lot of it, but so far i only have people thanking me for trying to bring it back

Do you have an old Rumble to work off of?

Some of the things I remember are;

A column called "words from the President", where the Prez lets people know who he is and what he intends to do for the club.

A column for the fastest members. It used to be the 11 second club, but that might need some alteration, now that people are dipping into the 10's.

A "Members other Mopar" column.

There would usually be a tech article of some type.

National meet coverage with a few pictures and such.

Some new additions might include:

A for sale or trade section. Also, parts wanted.

A feature article on an outstanding club member and their R/T.

If you can just get 4-6 pages together for a first run, the ideas would probably flow from there. You just have to jump into it the first time and go.

Good luck!!

That was my problem with doing it -- I was going to do the Rumble, but was waiting forever for Lloyd, then Dave to send me something....but never came...lol. The rest I could've thrown together, just to get an issue out...was leaning toward a Nats-based issue just to start things again, had most of the stats from the STL meet and everything.
