I stopped out at the Body Shop Tonight to see how things are going on the Dakota's Bodywork and Paint....

The Bed is almost done and we only have to Clean and Spray the Underside of the Bed in the Body Color since the Bed is in such Clean shape underneath...

I used the Best Possible ClearCoat I could get, and it went on absolutely smooth as Glass, after a few hours of Colorsanding and Buffing it looks like you can reach right into the Crystal Clear Finish!

The Bed will be done soon and it will be delivered to my Shop while I wait on the Cab and Frame to be completed....

it wasn't my camera, my Girlfriend's camera was used for these and the Date won't change on the settings for some odd reason...

Oh' well......

But I talked to the Body shop last night and it will be ready in about 2 weeks! :drive::biggthumpup:

We tried out the New Sandblaster last night to see how it was gonna work for doing Frame and suspension cleaning on our Projects....

It cleaned the Frame up perfectly on what we Tested it on, so the rest of the frame should clean up very nicely! :woot::woot:

Well we got the Tailgate Finished including colormatching the Handle and Bezel, Turned out Really well too!



I'm Pleased with how this turned out!

The Front Bumper and Valance are Painted too, looks like we'll have to Touch this Bumper up as it didn't quite turn out as we'd Hoped......



Damn Water in the Air lines created a small Problem!

The Shaker Hood is in Primer and after a little time to Cure in the Sun, it'll get Blocksanded Straight and Smooth and will soon be Ready for Paint too.....

Well we got some more Paint and Clear Laid on, we had to go back re-spray a few parts as we were not happy with the Finished Panels and Parts.....

We finally got most of the sandblasting work completed and it's in the Paint Booth for a Coat of Eastwood's Extreme Chassis Black Primer and soon a Coat of the Chassis Black Finish from Eastwood......

The Frame and Suspension is Cleaned and Painted with the Eastwood Companies Extreme Chassis Black Epoxy Frame Finish...

The Bed is Ready to go back in place as soon as the Back of the Cab is Sprayed and Cleared, along with the Roof of the Cab...

There is still a few Hours of Prep work that needs done along with some additional Blocksanding to get the Truck Perfectly straight...

Then it's ready for a Coat of PSB Bright Silver Metallic and Clear, and some colorsanding to get it all smooth and ready for Final Buffing and detailing...

it should be Ready for Final assembly by July 31 and Ready to debut at the All Truck Nationals in Carlisle!

to Finish both the Doors and Front Fenders, and it's Ready for a Final
Buff and detail before it's time to re-assemble.

Well we got all of our Summer Vacations out of the way and we've started to finally recover from Dealing with Family Member Passings......

Bob got back to work this week on the Dakota and we should have a Dakota ready to Finally be Finish Buffed and Detailed in Preperation for final assembly.

Next week we should have a Dakota in the early Stages of Re-assembly, we want the Paint to set for a bit before we start messing around trying to re-hang all the Parts!

Well it's about 90% Complete, I need to get a few parts back from the Paint shop, Door handles, Wiper Cowl, Ventshades, and the Grille......

I think I'm going to install a Chrome Grille on this one and install the Colormatched Sport Grille he's painting now on the R/T......

I also want to swap out the Cragar Soft 8's for the set of 17x9 R/T wheels I have in the shop.....
