Please read all

Well after some good discussions and suggestions by many members on a few forums and some thinking, i have come up with my idea. It is not based on just dakotas and durangos now, but based on Dodge as a whole. This means it will cover, Dakotas, Durangos, Rams, Neons, Chargers, magnums, Vipers, nitros and what ever other dodge vehicle that is customized. The idea and possiblilty of there being a section for muscle cars and older dodge vehicles is there. For now im going to exclude chrysler vehicles and jeeps. Im going to try and stick with strictly dodge.

It will be like multiple magazines in one, and will have many diff features aside from just featured trucks.

Some of the things that will or could be in the mag are

Feature trucks
How To's
Parts of course
Events
Dirt and a street features for the trucks and suvs
Street features for cars
Home brew mod's, cheaper ways of doing certain mods, Junk yard mods, and Mpg loss's or increases per mod etc.
Real world builds and budgets
Building and tuning.
It will also feature a page or two for members with stock rides or rides that have been somewhat modded, thus giving more then just the "super modded vehicles" a shot at being in the mag
Time slips
Possible Fold out centerfold with a model

And if you have any more ideas please let me know.

Over the next week i will be joining many dodge forums and advertising this idea to see what kind of feedback i can get and so far its been good so im hoping that it will be even better at other forums.

If this all comes together nicely the first mag will be and online issue only and will be free. I may however have people email me to get a copy so i can see what kind of response i can get and how many people are interested in it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now here is the fun part

I need a name for this magazine. It has to be something that encompasses all of dodge.

Two i had in mind are
Dodge World
Mopar Nation
OR a combo of the two

If you have one, throw it out there and I will make a poll in a week to see what people like most.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALSO

I need vehicles to feature and how to's and all the good stuff like i listed above.

If you would like your vehicle featured in the mag this is what i will need from you.

Name, Age, city and or state
Pictures of your truck
Mods that your truck has
Future Mods
A write up of your truck and how it came to be(This is a very important part) It can be as long as you want it to be, but please make it decent size. And what i mean by that is a nice paragraph or so, not a 3 sentence write up. I will do grammar and spelling checks myself.
Any other info you want to add. I.E, track times, awards won, anything you want.

If you would like to write a how to, or anything to do with mods no matter how big or small(anything from engine swap to how to add a K&N air filter), feel free to and send it to me. Make it as detailed as possible, provide pics also.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the name of the mag is decided, I will create an email address based off of the name and at that point i will start taking peoples submissions. This will be between a week - 2 weeks from now.

Remember, this is a member based magazine, I will be putting it together and organizing it. The only way this mag will survive is from support from the members.

Any comments or suggestions, please post here or PM me. If you would like to help or be part of this, Please PM me

I think a mag. like that sounds a little more real and will cover a larger reader base of people. To my knowledge there are no late model dodge mags out there unless i've just missed them on the stands.

Sounds good. I agree that opening it up to all Dodges will help you get more material. Plus starting out online is the way to go, then once you see how many people are getting it, you can get a feel for whether or not a printed mag is feasible.

As far as a name, if you want to keep it just Dodge, then I wouldn't go with Mopar Nation. It's a good name, but calling it Mopar would encompass the rest of the Mopar brands. How about:

Dodge Digest
Dodge Enthusiast
Grab Life (Dodge's new slogan, I'm sure we'd need to get permission to use this)

Speaking of permission, I wonder if we would need Dodge's permission to even use the word Dodge in the title. Pretty much everything is copyrighted these days, gotta be careful with that stuff.

How about a name like:
Modern Mopar
(you can work into Chryslers later if they come out with something cool)

Or keep it Dodge with:
D O D G E
Dimensions

IM going to look into the dodge permission thing since it has been said or suggested twice.

I am gonna second this name or even Mopar World.

You can use the Mopar "M" and if you do World just flip the "M" upside down.

I think we should limit to 80s and up. There's plenty of old Mopar muscle rags out there. But starting with the turbo K-car variants and continuing to today's models would make the mag truely unique.

Sounds a lot like "Mopar Now" which did not last long in the marketplace.

Neons???

There's quite a few Neons out there that can walk all over most R/T's.

I like the idea, all the other Mopar magazines that are on the stands are for older versions and not with anything modern. I have an older Mopar magazine that has a two page feature on one R/T that was supercharged. Not many dakota r/t's come across those magazines, so this magazine should bridge the gap between the two.

I would not mind being the magazine and talking about the install of the JM's Long-Tubes that i have on the truck. Only thing is that i don't have the before and after dyno numbers from the install.

I like the idea that Dave said, "Grab Life," that hints to the modern aspect of the Dodge world, but I think that is just seems a bit short for the title. You know something that Mustang enthusiasts do, Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, long title but to the point. Maybe "Grab Life of Modern Performance" or something like that. Just a thought.

I could see this magazine taking off, seeing you will include the Charger, and that seems to be the big Dodge following market lately. Also there are alot of modded Ram's out there as well. So maybe there would be enough intrest with just 2 of those classes. One thing I would suggest, is engine build combo section. If you did tried and true proven combo setups, that would snag more gear heads to. Dan

well i had the idea of doing a performance book and manual on the dakota rt and rams, which im working on. gm hi tech is a good read it has everything from camaros to trucks, all modern fuel injected performance, i would consider doing it along those lines, or muscle mustangs and fast fords, does a issue mainly for lightnings and diesels

What if for a name title you used the Mopar M, and called it
"Late Model Monthly" I am using ideas from others, and throwing a different view on it. Also by doing that, you might even catch people that have yet to enter the late model dodge performance market. So they might look it over and want to get into a R/T or high performance late model Dodge. Kinda like some on this forum read before they own a R/T. Than go out and find one. Dan

IMO We are Dodge "Truck" enthusiasts. I think it should be kept as such. Let one of the Charger/300/Magnum guys make something for the cars. ;)

;)Bigger target market, means greater success. And greater profitability if there is any.
