I'd like some opinion's on how these mirrors look.

Just slapped these on today to see what they look like, but personally I'm having some regrets cause they're made kinda flimsy and I think they look too small. If they were scaled up a bit they would be so much better. Also the mirrors look to be plastic, not glass :nono:

Visibility is OK from the driver's side, but the pass. side is not magnified or whatever so you can't see much at all - almost useless IMO.

The provided phillips screws were junk, they didn't fit onto any size driver I had so I had to dig up some ones that worked.

Anyways, the ebay listing is here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-01-DAKOTA-SMOKED-K6-POWER-SIDE-MIRRORS-W-LED-SIGNAL-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZModelQ3aDakotaQQhashZitem5 ae19c2275QQitemZ390332162677QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTr uckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

And scroll down for pictures. These also have the LED turn signals in them, you can wire them up for blue or amber color. I haven't hooked them up though.

Let me know what you guys think.

they remind me of my old "M3" mirrors off ebay which were total junk, the black on them faded out in 2 yrs and the glass spider web cracked after a year. went with SS cal mirrors and no regrets

I was thinking the same thing, looks like an updated version of the M3 mirrors. Can't go wrong with good old calvus.

They don't fit the truck at all. Take them back off and just put a set of the factory 5x7 mirrors on. Best looking and most functional option for these trucks IMO. I don't like how small the calvu mirrors are.

Pretty much the response I was expecting lol... these are coming off first thing tomorrow, their terrible. Let's just forget my attempt at wishful thinking!
I think I'll reconsider finding a set of OEM's to sand down and paint, shoulda just put my money towards that. Live and learn, I burned myself on this one!

Thanks for all the negative input, truly.

And now it is most certain that many of you are thinking :why:
and then,
:sucks:

Well hell, don't feel that bad, it's only mirrors, we've all fucked up before.

Some guys have paid serious money for that POS butt ugly WS6 Pontiac or whatever hood, and that thing is 100 times uglier than those mirrors.

Sell em on RaceMagnum.com, those guys love rice

Thanks dawg! And hey, if it helps - anyone who may be tempted to buy those mirrors will hopefully stumble across this thread and then it won't be totally worthless!

So yeah...for now I'm going to refocus my efforts on re-finishing my front clip from when I cracked it up over a small stump I didn't see when parking in front of my house. It's been too fugly to too long. Almost done sanding it all down, then I plan on spraying it with rattle cans I got from automotivetouchup.com

In one of the pictures I posted here, you can see the driver's door handle I painted to get practice on and also test the color match. I'm very happy with the results. So if I find some OEM 5x7's I'll just add it to the list!

I say keep the mirrors black. If you have tinted windows they blend in better. Painting them makes them stand out and interupts the lines of the window.

You know, I kind of agree with you there. Another thought I had was to keep them (oem 5x7's) black, but remove the texture and paint them gloss black. That would really compliment the tinted glass. We'll see.
