It could hurt, when I was troubleshooting my truck at the Nats last year, I borrowed Brian's pcm, just to make sure mine wasn't fried, thinking no problem, both '02's without security, wrong. After he put it back in his truck he had some issues, some lights were on, and didn't go away until he got the dealer to fix it. The '01+ trucks are apparently pretty touchy when it comes to pcms.

it was the ABS system that freaked out. I have 2wheel abs and Dave has 4?? but it did fire my truck
