Haha I knew someone would bring it up. It's still not wired up. I'm waiting to get my MSD Coil Blaster SS mounted on a custom bracket that I still need to make. But that should be done soon :jester:
What did you do to get the K&N tube looking like glass?

I'm guessing sand, rinse, repeat...Prime and paint. Same as stock mirrors, door handles...etc...

Or fiberglass?
P.S. in any case, it all looks great! Nice work.
With a plastic tube that flexes with the force of the hold down nut and engine not sure how well paint would hold up without cracking.

Maybe a skim coat of body filler, then sand and paint?

Noobs...LOL
Sand it smooth, hit it with an adhesion promoter/primer & paint it.
Body filler is going to make it more brittle.

Plus, you can add a flex promoter to the paint, that's what you do to the paint on plastic bumpers to keep it from cracking.

Night and Day difference in the pics. Looks good. I need to get on the ball with detailing the engine bay.

Hey thanks guys for the comments.
And Yep, the FIPK has been sanded, shooted with an adhesion primer and painted. A friend did it for me. It looks like glass and is easy to keep clean!

Looks really good! Looks like some good clearing skills on that tube. I hate clearing round objects but I haven't messed up one yet so I've had fairly good luck lol That paint won't ever crack or anything. He'll I've cleared a good dozen rubber welding hemlets and those are perfectly fine and they flex like no other.
