She's not much, just a stock engine with a couple of boltons. Heads are on, intake is just sitting there for the photo op. Just waiting on pushrods and a balancer and she'll be ready to drop in. More pics to come once it's finished.

About .019 years and she should be on the road. Stock stuff is easy, no customizing, no figuring out how to make crap work that wasn't designed for the truck, just bolt it together and put some gas in it. :D

Just like my kegger, belly pan and all. Have you got some 1:7 roller rockers hiding under those valve covers. BTW I still have all the stuff that I bought from your old set up, plus some additional that I got later. Good thing too because I'm starting to get the bug again.

She's all buttoned up and ready to drop in, just have to get some bolts for the converter & flexplate tomorrow. Also need to put the gas tank and fuel line in, but that's pretty easy (and I have all the parts and bolts for it lol).

If it were even normal weather for this time of year that would be fine. But this 100+ with heat indexes of 118-119 just ain't cutting it. I don't want to rush it, just want to keep the progress going and get her on the road soon. Barring any complications (and if it cools off a lil bit like it's supposed to), I should have her on the road within the next week. :burnout:

Any way to A/C a garage without a window unit? On the new house, cannot have a window unit. The two windows are at the front of the house, it would look bad. Only a door at the back of the house. My garage door is insulated so it got me thinking. :biggthumpup:I'd like a temporary type setup for more indepth projects when it's hot out. No A/C expert here so any ideas?

How much do you want to spend and how much cutting do you mind doing? You can install a window unit in the wall if you don't mind cutting. They also make what are called mini splits, where you only have to cut a 3" hole for the tubing, the condenser sits outside and you get a unit that mounts on the wall, but they're more expensive.

I was gonna go with Kumhos at first, because they were cheaper, but the Hankooks got much better reviews and were only $100 more for the set.

So the only thing coming inside would be the tubing the cold air comes in through? If I understand correctly...

If so I was thinking of some kind of adapter mounted on and going through the door. Kind of like a dog door but round and sealable when not in use and the tube is not attached.

The tube is for the freon, just like a regular central a/c unit, only difference is the mini split doesn't use ductwork, just the wall unit to cool a single room.

Something like this portable a/c unit would work, you can move it room to room, or point it at you while you work. You just need too hook the condensor exhaust tube to a window or door while its on, but you cant see anything from outside.

Are CCWs raw or do they coat them at all? The wheels on my DD have raw aluminum polished lips and I use this (http://www.autogeek.net/pbws.html) on them followed by a coat or two of wheel wax and they come back pretty nice after just cleaning with soap and water. Even as much as i've been neglecting them lately.

The wheels look great BTW, I was actually just on CCW's website the other day looking at that model and wondering if anyone ever had them on a Dakota before. I've been lusting after a set of Classics myself lately.

I'm doing it myself with a sealant.

zoopseal?

Close, it's ShineSeal, made by the folks who used to make ZoopSeal, it's their new and improved formula. It's a three step process (well four if you need to polish the rim first, but since these are new, I skipped the polishing, but the kit does come with polish), first step is a cleaner, then the metal sealer, and then the slick finisher, which is kind of like a wax. The wheel gets just a little bit dull when you put the sealer on, but then comes back when you put the slick finisher on. Here's the first one I finished:

They are completely raw, just polished. They come with four tubes of Rejex, but I decided to try the ShineSeal, since ZoopSeal seemed to be well liked.

Yup, back in Dec to a guy in Colorado. He's not on the boards, but someone from dak-dur let him know when I listed them up, so he jumped on it. He does some regular point series racing with his Dak.

My original plan was to get street bogarts and run 'em all the time with the 425. Oh, for anyone interested, Bogart can make street wheels again, go to their site and check out the street/strip page.

I've got Rejex on two wheels, and unfortunately those happen to be the rear ones. I didn't have time to Rejex all four before my first show of the year, because they suggest letting them sit or "cure" for 24 hours before being put into the element. I wish I had done the front ones since they see the most grime. But, even the fronts without the Rejex are holding up well to just regular cleaning with Zaino soap and water.

I need to hit all my Hotchkis grease fittings with some Green Grease today, and I think I am going to take the CCWs off and get them cleaned up and Rejex the front two. Might as well since they are calling for some showers today and later in the week.

I am very interested to hear how the ShineSeal works for you

Not a ton of progress today, got all the brake parts off and cleaned/painted. Got the rotors turned, new pads and shoes will go on tomorrow.

Love the wheels man, maybe you should pass down that shine seal since your probably never going to need it again!

Thanks. Gotta see how long it lasts first! lol But there's enough left to do the wheels at least two more times.
