Hmmm I bought arp heads bolts but I wanna make sure they will be good for my application or should i just go all out and get head studs. I'm planning on spraying around 100 shot and I wanna make sure this thing holds together. Do you think head studs are overkill. I already purchased head bolts but i'm having second thoughts.

I got a free set of arp head studs when I was looking for head bolts.

Studs never hurt, but with only a 100 shot bolts should be fine.

YOu can get away with more torque on those than the stockers, so take advantage of it.

think about this, will you eve want to get that heads off while the engine is in the truck ? If so, you maight run into clearance issues with the brake booster. I not sure on this, but I think the head will run into the booster before it clears the top of the stud. I think I remember Danno maentioning that.

It's tight, but you can do it. I was able to get my Eddy's on with the studs in place. Altho, they're half the weight of iron heads, so that makes it a lil easier. Wrestling with an iron head and studs would be a pain.

I knew someone had done it before. Yeah, with Iron heads that could be a real bitch. I remember you saying it was tight now.

I used to run studs with the 2.02 R/T heads, but when I went to the Eddys, I went with bolts. Personally, I don't see the need for the studs.

All you have to do is remove the studs and it's same/same.
My ARP studs actually had an allen wrench fitting made into the top of each one, so it was as easy to remove a stud as it was to remove a bolt.

ARP.
I also used Fel Pro's instead of Cometics. No regrets.
