I've been thinking of getting DJM lower control arms for my truck to reduce some front end weight and switch to poly bushings. I know that the DJM arms will lower a Dakota about 2" in the front. I have the truck at the perfect ride height right now so I don't wanna go any lower. My question is, can I shorten the section between the mounts and the actual arm, so I don't drop the front end any more?

Why not do poly bushings in your factory control arms

How much difference do you think 15 pounds makes when you drive around New York backroads??? Losing weight is all in your head. It won't benefit your truck one fucking bit. Take your step bumper off the next time you go to the track and see what it does for you. Nothing. Put some damn poly bushings in your stock arms and forget about it. You know the stance is more important to you than losing 15 pounds off of a 4000 pound truck.

you can modify them sure... it's gonna be fair amount of work. And DJM arms aren't that great to begin with

Robby, just throw some poly bushings in the stock arms. I did mine a couple years ago

And fix that gasket, TOMORROW.

Nope, they're actually heavier. I wish I had thrown them on a scale, but they are noticeably heavier than the stock arms when you compare them.

RtZoD used to have a video on here somewhere showing how much the poly bushings flexed when you turn the wheel, it caused a bunch of rubbing for him. I think others have had broken welds? I have always heard the WC arms are nicer quality.

I have a set of WC arms ( I think) they are all cracked up, I am planning on repairing and strengthening them one day.
