With the rise in gas prices there has been an increased theft rate of gasoline from people vehicles in the area so I think it's time for a locking gas cap. Does Mopar make something like this or am I restricted to aftermarket?

got mine at pep boys. Pretty cheap and the key is a popular style that can be reproduced (that matters to me -lol)

you could get either or both...
I purchased a locking gas cap, the actual black cap, with a keyed lock in the top, from mopar... originally it was a gift for a friend who leased a Durango, but when he gave that back after the lease, he kept the cap and he gave it back in a few months when I got my Dakota
I have a polished aluminum fuel door, from All Sales, without a lock, but they are available, here for example:

I am sure there are others too

Guess I'll do some checking at the local parts stores.

Don't bother with a locking gas cap, they'll just punch a hole in your plastic gas tank!
That's what they've been doing around here.

Here in Washington State too. One punch with a screwdriver and drain 'er out!

x3... doing the same thing in Northern Ky and OH
There's no need for a locking gas cap anyways. Have any of you ever tried to siphon gas out of your tanks?? The roll over safety valve in the tanks to prevent the gas from pouring out should you roll over also prevents most hoses people would use to siphon gas from getting into the tank.
