So this morning, I parked for work, got my parking pass out of the glovebox, closed the glove box...

And then this piece hit the floor. I'm not sure what it is. The glovebox is closed and latched shut, I can't open it.

Is there another way to get into it? I've got some important things in there (insurance, registration, owner's manual, etc...).

The glovebox is held in place on the bottom by 3 plastic hooks on the bottom. Two facing down on the outsides and the one in the middle facing the opposite way. You may be able to detach it from the bottom, but it will still be secured up top.

Ive never been able to get the glove box to release on the bottom even after the latch and travel limiters are removed. I always feel like im going to break it. Good luck.

I had to take mine off/out about a month ago. It took me FOREVER because I was nervous I was going to break it. Then all of a sudden, POP, out it came! Nothing broke, and it went back together with no problem.

I actually ended up drilling 2 holes and zip tying the latch mechanism. I'll get a glovebox or at least a handle for it eventually. Shopped around on eBay and the like, and didn't really want to pay $30 for a used one.

So I came up with this. It works, it's not pretty and it's not the smoothest operating, but it works.

I didn't have any black zips on hand...

Yeah that shit sucks. I rather pull and install the dash another time before fucking with the glovebox again. :jester:
