i would never guess that.

local guy runs one lap every year with his vette, i'll be anxiously awaiting to see what he has to say about it.

Well that sucks. Are the prototypes built for that kind of driving? Maybe something broke? Or maybe he's used to driving his vette and didn't realize that a 4000lb car isn't going to handle quite the same? :nono:

i might have been confusing, this isn't the local guy. i dunno who the driver of the chally was. local guy is jeremy hetzberg and races with danny popp. people involved with corvettes and the racing world with things like NASA and whatnot might know who danny popp is. this year it looks like jeremy and danny are running a mongoose kit car. http://www.mongoosems.com/

Ahhh, gotcha. Then I'd definitely put it on driver error, especially in a heavy vehicle, you have to know what you're doing or you'll get into trouble quick. Kinda like driving these trucks LOL I'd love to do some road racing like that, gets expensive tho.

actually it's not terribly expensive through organizations like NASA. for about 150 bucks you can get an entire day at the track with 3 or so sessions, more it it's a weekend long event. you would start out in HPDE1 where a certified instructor rides along with you so that you can work on your line and whatnot/limited to no passing/things like that. right now, many people i know up here are starting to do track days. you have VIR close by and i know NASA has events there. if you're really interested you should check it out.
they are actually at VIR towards the end of july.

I'd love to run at VIR, but more than the cost of the event would be the costs of having the truck ready for something like that. I'd need some serious brakes and track tires before I went out for something like that. Big brakes are in the plans sometime in the future, maybe once they're in, I'll look into it
