Is this air hat any good? I see a lot of people using them. What size would I need for a 52 mm TB? How do they bolt to the TB? I noticed that a few of the different TB's have the bolt hole in different places. One had 2 mounting holes and others had just 1 (like the holley that I have has just 1 mounting hole).

I think they were talking about the K&N Extreme air cleaner lid and not the Extreme Velocity air hat.
"We were testing air cleaner VS no AC, & testing a K&N Xtreme lid at the time so that's why no Airflow & AF etc on this pull. The K&N 3"X14" AC lost around 8 HP.... When we blocked off the Xtreme lid with duct tape it gained power back...... "

standard carb mounting size is 5 1/8"
They are more beneficial for high pressure forced induction setups.

Do you know of a good place to buy 1? And is there different models, some with o-ring gaskets and stuff. Which 1 is the one that everyone is getting?

heres a start

I think Mopar318 had a link for a spectre knockoff that was about 1/3 the price.
Otherwise try ebay

Its not really a knock off, a little different design, and cost about 70 bucks. I'm sure it doesn't flow as good as the superior air flow hat, but for a moderate boost and half grand power levels its fairly insignificant.
Heres (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Blow-Through-Carb-Hat-Throttle-Body-Turbo-Bonnet_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1 247QQcategoryZ38634QQihZ023QQitemZ360028811932QQrd Z1QQsspagenameZWD1V) a link on ebay that sells them.
Heres a real life picture on my setup.

I used a 45 degree 4"-3" adapater, which will run about 15 bucks from frozenboost.com
