If you're running 11.49 and faster for the 1/4 mile, or 7.49 and faster for the 1/8th mile, you'll need a 5 point rollbar. You can run down to 10.0 with a 5 point rollbar, 9.99 and faster requires a full cage, along with a bunch of other safety stuff. There are also some other safety regs for 11.49 and faster, but I don't have my rulebook with me.

Roll cage or roll bar? You need a bar at 11.49 and quicker. Cage isn't until 9.99.

Here's a good break down of equipment/times: http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=880990

Roll Cage and Roll Bar are two different things.
I'm guessing your talking about a Roll Bar--anything 11.5 or quicker needs a Roll Bar. Don't forget you will also need a SFI balancer and SFI Flex plate, aftermarket axles and Trans cover to go with your SFI Jacket and certified Brain Bucket.:goodluck:

That's called a light bar and it goes in your bed. A roll bar will be 5/6 point.

you have time to figure it out then..It's kinda a tradition around this club to get kicked off the track at least once for not having the roll bar..:jester: lol:jester:

Depending upon the track, you can run way under and after awhile get a "you need a bar soon", or you can run a single 11.49999 and get booted for life. Depends upon the track.

I think that might change this year for me. I think with the new build and a little spray i will be getting pretty close to a 11.5.

Dave how much longer til that beast gets a run.

Guess I'm older and wiser....I plan to have a roll cage before I need one. My rule book is common sense, I've played the hurt game...No thanks, it's why I quit Motocross, at the top of my game.

Like I've said...I want to have everything in place before I really need it.

Fuel system
Chassis
Seats
5 point harness
Suit/gloves/etc....
Helmet
Fire bottle
Roll cage

I have a few of them out of the way....But before I bolt in the big HP, the cage will be in place. Bank on it.

Damn, internet sucks out here, wouldn't let me do a multiquote.

slvr03, I'm hoping to have it on the road by early June.

KJ, I only had two 1/4 mile runs that would have gotten me booted, and I guess they just didn't notice. And my local 1/8th mile doesn't care, they told me if it's a street vehicle and driven to the track they don't even look at it LOL We'll see if they really mean it when I'm running mid 6's there :D
