so i call the guy who supposedly is doing my roll cage, 4 wks plus hes had my truck, he was going to charge me 250 to p/p my heads/intake, and 250 to install the roll cage, i give hime 300 up front he charged me 40 bucks to come pick up my truck to tow it to his house, he breaks my pass side window, so i talk to him and he says, " well its to crowded inside, its going to take me longer, i need more $, or i dont know what to do all the stuff is still in there" i said mofo you told me to leave it the way it was, so any way he says heads are done but i didnt touch the intake its good you dont need to do it, so what the fuck did i pay you for? i pd you 340 and a broken window to get my heads done that im probably going to have someone else go thru them just incase and probably pay someone else to clean up the intake, bring my fucken truck home, what a piece of shit! anyway end of rant!:stirringthepot:

I hate that! Like when you finally have a contractor do some work at the house. Then, they don't finish it. Or, we didn't talk about doing that, but oh, here it is in the contract you had me sign.

Not to be rude, but it sounds like you got what you paid for. The two sets of heads I've had ported were over a grand each.

250 for a roll bar? Made out of Balsa wood? Dude would of been working for like 10 dollars an hour with no materials.

At this point i just want my truck back and my window fixed

Was it a kit of some sort? Probably thought it would weld right it, but I am sure it needs some work. I took my own interior out when I had mine done.

That sucks man. I won't use anyone unless I get a good recommendation from someone I know and trust.
Being a friend and claiming he can do the work and can't really blows.

I bought the A.M. roll bar kit as well.
Also, stripped the interior out myself before bringing it to the shop for install.
The kit is not exactly plug and play as far as NHRA requirements are concerned. It doesn't come with outriggers for the frame, so those had to be fabbed. Also, my guy bent the forward bars down to make the install easier.
An able and competent installer should be charging you $600-$700 for
a 5 or 6 point install with door swingouts.
Ron Pircey Racecars does nice work, but they're in Federal Way. Probly too far for ya.

Yea he was going to do the outriggers, the guy has built several race cars hes well known in the area, i will pay whatever it cost me but he started being a bit hesitant on the phone so i said just bring my truck back so i can try and get it done by april 9th, opening day. I still havent recieved it and its sunday now

Jim's pretty busy at this point. He's building on 3 other engines besides mine! One a hemi, that has been a pain is his butt.
For the manifold. Just gasket match it, blending the opening back into the runner as far as you can reach. Then reach down the plenum and razor edge the dividers for the runners. Are you running a turtle in the bottom?
