Yes for the DVD player but not to listen to a cd, that'd be alot of work to pull over just to hear a cd. Plus the last one did the same thing an it had no DVD player an mine is wired into the parking brake also

The pink wire is for the dvd player screen (on most units its pink) If you wire that to a ground instead of the brake lever, you can have the dvd play while you drive. Move that wire to a ground and see if it changes anything. my guess is not and your problem is somewhere else

Alright I'll give that a try, I have the factory infinity system so I dunno if maybe the amp is bad ? But would that affect the radio

have you check the wires using the continuity function on the volt meters, just cuase they look like they are not broke does not mean they are not. does the amp have a turn on light on it? if so is it on? my bet is either a bad amp or its not turning on for some reason.

Actually I am going through the exact same thing. Put the system in and no sound on anything. Everything else works, including getting power on the amps, plays movies, GPS works. Using the stock harness in the truck, took the stock amp out. Aftermarket speaker wire.
Sounds exactly the same as this guy is going through?

Sounds like we have the same problem, does your radio put out sound ? See that's what's confusing me

is your blue and white wire hooked up? I think that is the factory amp turn on wire, if its not hooked up your amp will power up but not turn on.

No sound what so ever. As far as I can tell all other functions work perfectly, used the GPS several times, plays DVD's, radio pics up stations, just no noise coming out. I have aftermarket amps, took the stocker out and tried the amp bypass wires thinking maybe that was it. Nothing there either.
I am thinking this should be stupid when its found.....haha...

Ow would I go about bypassing the stock amp ? Are the wires just on that one end an I just connect them together ?

A couple people have contacted me on how to do this. The harnesses used are Metra 70-8901. They are for 1990-2006 Subaru vehicles and you will need 2 of them. They can be found on eBay or Amazon for around $10/each. They will look like this:
First take you connectors and label one A and the other one B. This will help in ease of wiring. The connectors should have the pin numbers labeled on the connector. The chart below will help you connect them together. If you want to keep the amount of wires down remove all the unnecessary wires. *Note* This will work for 1999 models. Don't know about other years.
Connector A-----------------------------Connector B
Pin 1---Remove
Pin 2---Remove
Pin 3---Remove
Pin 4---Violet---------------------------Pin 8---Gray w/BLK
Pin 5---Green---------------------------Pin 12---Violet w/BLK
Pin 6---Yellow--------------------------Pin 10---Red
Pin 7---Remove
Pin 8---Remove
Pin 9---Remove
Pin 10---Red-----------------------------Pin 3---White
Pin 11---Black----------------------------Pin 9---White w/BLK
Pin 12---Violet w/BLK---------------------Pin 2---Gray
Pin 13---Green w/BLK---------------------Pin 4---Violet
Pin 14---Blue-----------------------------Pin 11---Black
That should leave you with something looking like this:
Before you can put the connector you will need to shave a little bit off the middle dividers in the middle of the plugs. They should look like the picture below.
The stock amp is located in the passenger kick panel. It should just be clipped on. Remove that panel. You will see the amp tucked up there. Remove the 2 connectors going into it.
Now plug connection A into the larger connector and plug connection B into the smaller connector. Now put the kick panel on. Now you should have effectively bypassed the stock amp.
Tried it, but didn't help.

You only need to do this if you want to replace the stock HU AND speakers with aftermarket and use the built in amp instead of the stock infinity and retain factory speaker wiring. If you rewire the speakers directly to the HU then this isn't needed or if you have an aftermarket amp, then this is completely irrelevant.
This was posted after I had already tried it though.

Sounds to me like your using an input as the output, you sure all is wired in the correct jacks?

There are no imputs or outputs to connect on the stock wiring harness I even used the connectors that keep my factory wiring intackt so I dunno what's missing I may try an wire a speaker directly an see if this fixes the problem

Hmm, I will have to try that. I have aftermarket amps though. Checked my wire diagrams and everything looks good there.
