I never thought I'd one day be posting this, but I'm selling my R/T due to financial reasons. I've posted it on ebay if anyone wants to check it out. The truck is in excellent condition & is 98% factory for those folks who still want a mostly orignal R/T. All it needs is a decent paint job, and a tonneau cover and that's it. I've recently installed the Purple camshaft from Mopar performance to enhance it's perfomance, which it did. It would be best to reprogram the PCM to remove the speed & rev limiters to get the full potential of this cam.(still has the factory PCM). I would rather see a club member buy this truck then some average goober who would probably use it as a daily work truck than some who appreciates it true collectors value. So please go check it out on ebay & good luck!

Didnt think the purple cams would work with fuel injection.

they dont, they are for pre magnum, but purple shafts makes them for the magnums, like my cam but the just call them mopar performance cams now

BTW: Yes they do sell purple cam for the MPI 5.9,(aka plug & play),Check out the Mopar Perfomance website under Magnum Trucks. Cam came with hydraulic roller lifters as well. Can't really hear any difference at idle, but I do feel a quicker launch. However, the factory PCM needs adjustment to remover the rev limiter.

my truck is a 99 and I guess I should ask for a refund. Its only making 260 at the wheels. Im down 30+ hp!

My bad! Your only down 10. After checking my sources, I over stated that fact. I've since made the correction.

The 1999 models were the fastest of the Gen 3 series Dakota R/T’s by 40 hp over the 2000-04’s. Factory HP was rated at 250 HP, but unadvertised HP was actually 270 HP at the wheels.

thats funny cause Chris Orlando has a 99 with pph's, m-1, fipk, roller rockers, MP PCM, MSD etc,, and only put down like 260 at the wheels. you got your self a freak! one of a kind!

btw stock r/t's( all yrs) put down 190-210rwhp.

My understanding from SoCal Dak & the guys at Dallas dodge, the daks have about 260-270 WHP but 290 at the crank. I never dyno'd mine so I don't know what mine actually has,but I trust these guys know these dakotas better than I do. I could see that 290 at the crank. But hey we learn something everyday.

BTW: I sold mine this evening. I'll be pulling the auction.
