So decided to check out the scenery at the beach this morning and got a blowout as soon as I was on the beach road. No warning or anything truck started pulling to the right and I smelled rubber and pulled over right away. I just checked all four tires and put air in them the day before left them all roughly 6lbs under max pressure.

What size tire is everybody running on there 20s? These were 255/40/20 and my rear ones are 315/35/20

I dont wanna get too much taller of a tire up front and them make my rear ones look smaller/odd.

I dont like Toyo so Ive been looking at the BFG KDW 2 in 265/35 for up front

Damn, there is a lot of meat left on them skins. I would be at someone's shop getting me a new tire for free.

Like previously stated good deal nothing got damaged. So guess while your getting new tires its a good time to POLISH YOUR RIMS! :jester:

Do you know how this happened? It looks like the tire was rubbing on something

I'll have to keep an eye out - the new truck also has Toyo 255/40-20's F, 315/35-20's R. I was using Falken 275/35-20 F, 295/45-20 R on the previous truck - never had any problems with rubbing.

I talked to Toyo yesterday, of course since im not the original buyer of the tires my only option is to drive 2 hours down the road to a Toyo dealer and have them inspect the tire and if they determine its bad Toyo will then replace it.

Gotta polish them up for sure, actually planned on doing that when I got back from the beach until this happend. Seem like they need to be polished every 2-3 months to keep them looking good, and I only drive the truck half a dozen times in that period

I have no idea how this happend, I noticed the truck started pulling one way and smelled rubber. My stock 17 is the same height and didnt see/have any problems with it....yet

CCWs are a beast to keep clean, I pull the ones off my GTO every 3 months or so and polish them inside and out too.
