View Full Version : New look on my wheels
Close up

Pics of the whole truck. Haven't taken any pics of the whole truck like this for a long time due to mismatched wheels and unpainted body parts. Still need to get fog lights put back in but waiting on a HID kit to come in first.

I usually am not a fan of darked out wheels, bit it looks good Brian. I'm also diggin' that subtle blue line on them.
Now take some during the daytime so I can see the green stripe on the side. The truck looks real good!

maybe it's just me, and dont take offense, but i think your truck is hideous looking.
i do give you credit for giving it the look you like/want though and not the typical look

I agree, I think it looks like ass, but hey, it's not my truck. If Brian likes it that all that matters.
I'm sure everyone will bash me when they see my truck without the fender flares....

that rear bumper cover is one of the ugliest things made for these trucks. the only one i have seen that looked halfway decent was on DRaven's dropped Quad Cab, and even then it looked crappy

Well, I'm not a fan of roll pans after killing three tailgates on things that would have only scraped some paint off of a bumper, and wanted a "smoother" look that just the factory bumper. The only other truck I have ever seen one on is the Xenon demo truck, so if nothing else it sets my truck apart. At first when I got it painted I didn't know if I liked it that much either, but since I cut my fender flares to make it work I wasn't going back easily. Then I painted the little lip that sticks out black and I liked it a lot better.

honestly the reason i don't like the bumper is it reminds me of one of those japan custom vans. they all have that big ass rear bumper...

put a factory bumper back on if you don't like roll pans and i think your truck would look real nice.

It has a factory bumper on it. This is just a cover that goes over the factory bumper. As i said, I wanted a smoother look than just the stock bumper, and something different than other trucks.

" and something different than other trucks."
You have definitely accomplished different!!! But so did Ford when they brought out the Edsel!

The more I think about it, the more I feel your awesome back bumper just begs for the matching "Continental Kit" to finish it off.
As always Tom, your replies are about as useless as tits on a boar hog.

im not a huge fan of club cab r/t's because they don't look as sporty. that bumper cover mixed with the 2-tone makes your truck look even longer, and i think thats why im not a huge fan of it. that, and blue on white is NOT a good 2-tone combination

I like the CC more than the RC because it seems to flow better where the cab ends. The RCs doors are too on the edge of the cab at the back.
I like the blue line on your wheels Brian. I don't think the truck looks ugly, but I must say that the rear bumper really do though. I'd change that it would look WAY MUCH better!

I have some of the ugliest mopars ever built, a 62, 63 and 64 not to mention a couple 63 through 65 darts and valiants...Ugly can be cool, but it took 30 some odd years for them to become cool. Good luck with that ugly truck.

Actually, Brian, you hit on a good comparison with that statement.
Up close, your newly painted wheels look "Tits". But when you step back and look at the whole boar hog (your R/T)----they're kinda useless.
A pig wearing lipstick is still a pig!
That's kinda where you're at!
If you can't handle the good comments along with bad, don't post-up pics and ask what we think of your big deal.
The empty fog-light holes are another nice touch.
One other thing that needs correcting is the statement that nobody likes the looks of your truck---absolutely wrong, wrong, wrong! I'm positive you like it, your Mom probably does, and hopefully your wife Dusty. That's 3!!!
Take care little buddy and don't let them get you down.
buddy Tom
P.S. Give some real serious thought to mounting that continental kit on your rear bumper. ----The finishing touch dude!
Or maybe let some firefighters hitch a ride on the way to a blaze---great platform for that!

Totally agree! :D
Or you could mount a swing out spare tire rack on the back so you could still open the tailgate.
Sorry Dude but your heart may have been in the right place on the wheels but they look like you should have had one of those "WTF was I thinking" moments after you finished painting the first one before you screwed up the other three wheels.
Ohhh and another thing! Have you ever heard of TIRE SHINE? You really should check into picking some up and giving it a try.

Looks a lot better than it has over the years. I don't like the wheels close up, but it works overall for sure.
Now ditch that rear bumper and ricer tail lights and you'll have a very nice looking truck. If you really can't tolerate a roll pan, tuck the factory bumper in.
I'm not going to change my truck just because a few people on an internet forum don't like it. I'm sorry for not playing along with the popularity contest some people seem to try to be in. Obviously some people like the truck, some people don't. You can't please everyone. And then there will always be those people who will always have negative comments no matter what I do.

It's your truck. Don't change a thing if you like it.

It's your truck and you are the only one that you have to please. Just because I don't particularly care for the look shouldn't mean a thing to you.

I know its your truck and it makes you happy. Those wheels painted black screams throw me on some winter tires. Your truck with Silver 17 or 20 inch R/T rims and a stock bumper cut and tucked in the back would make it sexy. Again as long as it makes you happy dude then go for it.
