I think I may have screwed up... Friday, at Spring Carlisle, there was a guy parting out a GC SRT-8 complete interior. I only wanted the [power] front buckets, of course. He really didn't want to split it up. His starting price was $800, sounded like he'd cut me a deal to take it all. Check these out:

Not really since Darren can get you NEW seats and upholster them with whatever script you want for around the same price.

Kinda like paying $1000 for viper seats... that still say viper on them. Gay

First, I know I could have gotten the price down to around $700. If I managed to sell everything else off for a hundred, or two, [it included shifter, console, rugs, door panels, wiring and door swithces] then my net cost, for sake of arguement, would be $500-$600. So, you think I can get two, factory quality, power, leather seats with whatever script, for $500-$600 ? Uh, I think not!!!

And, I think they would fit perfect in our trucks, [IMO viper seats have a little different seating position] because these came out of a truck. And I think you are inferring that you wouldn't want SRT-8 logos on your seats???

Well, I guess you are entitled to your opinion....

lot IFs in that post.

Are you arguing cost? Quality? Fitament?

I think that when a few others chime in here, they will agree that it was a good deal.

It was a good deal....those seats sell for over 1000 just for fronts used....

And TurboBlew - if you really want NICE seats - skip the rest and go straight to cerullo's, thats what I have and the quality is second to none....there is no 7-800 dollar that compares, period end of story.

I was looking into buying SRT-8 seats when I got this R/T so they'd match with my Charger SRT-8. It's a bummer you didn't get to grab them, I think they would be extremely comfortable.

I'm not even remotely trying to knock on Darren's seats, but there is a HUGE difference in style/support between a set of racing-style seats and the type of seats that come with an SRT-8. Everyone's opinions will vary about the seat they like best, but I think you should sit in an SRT-8 for a long highway drive before you talk any more shit about them.

Although I have't logged many miles in any, I have heard from many people that "racing seats," even the top quality ones, are designed for structure, support, and minimal weight. Comfort would be at the top of my list, styling second. So I know these would have been what I want.

And I had the cash with me....

But I have for a few years, had in the back of my mind, to go custom, and have an upholsterer stich up some seats with a retro look of channel pleated black leather--to go with many of my other 'retro-mopar' mods.

Maybe he thinks 'Viper' or 'SRT-8' is like 'apc' on racing seats.

When did you do a 6spd?

Are you going to be at the Magic Dragon show this coming weekend? I'll be there with Doug (flamed rc).

Where is the magic dragon show? Knew nothing about it- And the transmission isn't really a viper 6 speed, Mine went out so I replaced with one from patc raceing- It is their Viper series- Just built stronger than most- cost me about 2200.00 shipped 3.5 years ago

Seeing as i do all the Vipers here in town and taken out way too many of those seats I think that it'll take some good fabbing to make them fit in our trucks..not saying it can't be done..jus too much hassle when Cerrulos and others out there are alot more comfy... next set i take out i'll mock them up in mine and take a serious look at them..

There is probably 100, maybe more, R/Ts running around with Viper seats in them. :nana::jester:

For the Gen I seats two of these brackets per seat made from 1 inch square tubing will work just fine. I think they will also work for the Gen II seats, but I'm not sure.

hmmm... i don't remember what the bottom of the Gen I seats look like but the front of the Gen II are bent downward so i can see where ya could do "L" brackets...i still think the aftermarket seats are alot more comfy... oh...i forgot... :nana: :nana: lol..
