Worst Dakota in the Mid-West

I went to mid-west drag fest 2 years ago and this dakota was there- It was a two day show and I didn't get there until sunday but they said I would still get judged. He's a redneck that has seen fast and the furious 1 to many times and has a subscription to lowrider. Thats the only way I could see how he came up with that combo- oh and the chick on the hood is his sister- sorry but no family on my hood. Sound system sounds like me having beer shits- it's straight ass. He actually had the nerve to take that truck up to Bartal hall in K.C. that year for the usaci world finals- I laughed my ass off- I got my payback up there. Was much better than a top 50 award anyday.

The lady who owns the shop had her ram in truckin with the bumper about to fall off- it's one of those shoots that makes me hate the mags- it was special because she took out the dodge motor and put in small block chevy motor- I asked her at the mid-west dragfest why on earth would she do such a thing and she said because you can't find motor parts and billet for the dodge. I couldn't help but laugh- for the trouble and cost it took to do the swap she could of had the damn thing dipped in chrome and dim sum.:biggthumpup: Here is a quote from the Truckin magazine- Yes, that's a 5.7L Chevy V-8 between the framerails, but even Mopar purists have to agree that the painted, polished, chromed, and plated engine looks amazing. If they don't, they can just squint until it looks like a 5.9L.

Being from Nebraska, I'd like to apologize on behalf of all Nebraskans for that abortion of a truck. I mean, my truck is no way close to a trophy winner at any show, but damn. Get rid of the snow leapord print on the interior that looks like it was applied with a hot glue gun by a 4 year old.

They say each their own but this takes the cake- They seem to be decent fabricators as far as frame and airbag work goes and I hate to cut down on people when they try but they really need to stay completely away from the audio and interior department- I do custom work on the side and if I ever turned out something that looked like that and charged for it I'd shoot myself. If I see something like that I always offer to clean it up at a really fair price just to help keep them from getting made fun of later down the road- Most people at a show won't say anything but then they really don't have to- expressions say it all. The same goes for the guys that turn up there systems and it's all distorted- to them it sounds good cause they don't know any better. Sometimes I try to help them out and they get offended- I'm just straight telling them what most people want to but don't. I'm no pro but I definetly pull off better work than that.

Barely. Had 30 degree temps over the weekend again. But I have had my summer rims/tires on for a month now. Just bought two more stock R/T rims so I can get them powdercoated to match my rear rims. Just don't know when I'm going to have time to do the powdercoating.

If you look at the last picture of the side of the dakota, you can see spots of paint on it. It looks as though they just painted big spots of it instead of doing the whole thing at once.

I'm telling you the paint job is 100% spray paint from a rattle can- there are uneven coats all over th place and even the flames are rattle can- the flames have huge runs and drips- I get a migrain ever time I look at it in person from my head shaking back and forth so much wondering " WHY GOD? WHY?"

No offense, but are the door panels supposed to not look all one color?? And what's up with the grips you pull on the close them? Looks like it's cracking or something. It does look better though. Is your truck sponsored by everyone that has a sticker on your windows?? Oh, and not a fan of the cheap seat covers either.

The color on the door panels is a solid color- thats just light glare from the sun with the armor all and the different curves and I don't know why the door handles look like that in the picture because they are perfectly fine- The stickers- the truck is sponsored by Dynamat and Memphis and I have a kenwood processor so I added the windshield banner. Also I'm not a fan of the seat covers either- They ripped right after last years nats. right now though I am more concerned about fixing the exterior from the tornado then the seats but if I have budget left I will buy new seats or have the stock ones recovered with leather.

yeah- I had some plywood board pieces land in my drive way from god knows where but they apparently my truck was right in their path because she took some deep gouges to the hood, bumper, and right fender and took a chuck out of my tonneu cover- I have a cheap deductible but I really don't want that type of claim when I can fix it myself- just need to find the time. The Dynamat sponsor wasn't hard because the product isn't real expensive- and Memphis I just got lucky with. I worked at a shop in So cal and the local sales rep come in trying to get the shop I worked at to pick up the line- I was also hinting at my boss telling him to pick it up but he was more high end like JL, Zapco type and didn't trust the brand. Can't teach old dogs new tricks. I told the rep I competed and had all memphis product in my truck he smiled and gave me his card to call him- so I did and he asked me what I needed for product- He said most people need back ups so I told him what I was running and he had my porch covered with double that plus some other extras 2 days later- It was awsome.

Yeah, old thread. But I had to bring it back. I have since done a complete overhaul to my truck since this thread was started. Yeah truck had a nasty key scratch from so punk hater at sema. My sponsor North Star battery is trying to make arrangments for my truck to be out there again this year. Not sure which booth though since they are partnering with exide.
