Just a few weeks ago, Dover Plains, NY local Lance Corporal John G. Curtin USMC and his battle group were attacked in Afghanistan. He has suffered pretty intense injuries and is on a long road to recovery. I have been keeping in contact with his cousin. She says that he is doing very well. A fund for him and his family to help with any medical/transportation expenses will be open to take donations in a few days. If anybody is interested in donating a few bucks, PM me and I will send you the address as soon as I have it. Thank you very much

Just a few weeks ago, Dover Plains, NY local Lance Corporal John G. Curtin USMC and his battle group were bombed in Afghanistan. Due to the extent of his injuries, both of his legs were amputated. In addition, he may lose an arm from shrapnel wounds as well. I have been keeping in contact with his cousin. She says that he is healing very quickly and is going to go for prosthetic legs ASAP. A fund for him and his family to help with any medical/transportation expenses will be open to take donations in a few days. If anybody is interested in donating a few bucks, PM me and I will send you the address as soon as I have it. Thank you very much

Donations can be made to: Putnam County Council VFW, 40 Schuylkill Court, Carmel, NY 10512 with a notation: LCpl John G. Curtin

I leave you with a message from my family..

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."
~ Melody Beattie
Thank You

Thank you very much. Even though I don't really know him too well, a local hero is a local hero, and he's not just that. From what I've seen, he's a great friend to a lot of people too. I've always been big into supporting the troops, and I'd like to see more people getting into it

Guys I fixed the link in the above post by his Aunt it works now and I have sent my check in hope some of you follow my lead. Freedom isn't Free and this young Marine has paid for our Freedom dearly. So maybe you skip a Cup of Coffee for a week and drop a check in the mail would it kill you to do that?
