Trying to get an idea of what cam to go with. There are not to many options hughes engines cams are cut on a 114lsa (what a waste unless ur blown). Krc has some decent cams does any have input on thier 408 cam specs are 210/220@.50 512/512lift on a 108lsa. Trying to keep this thing streetable and have 430-450hp at the flywheel.

Well, you can contact Scott Brown and he can cut you a custom cam. http://www.vtcompetitionengines.com/ It's a Mod motor shop, but he used to work for Straightline Performance, http://www.straightline-perf.com/slp-letter.html Scott does a lot of cams for people on Moparts and they are all very happy with them.

Duration will determine where your power band is. Lots of duration will make more HP, but at the sacrifice of less power/tq down low. The wider lobe seperations keep PCM's happy, and results in a flat, broad torque curve. The tighter LSA's will get you more peak torque, but in a narrower band. More duration is gonna mean more stall/possibly gears to keep things from getting mushy down low. Lots of cam will bog too when the convertor locks up on the street in 3rd/OD.

Deciding if this is a race car that you drive on the street, or a street car that you like to race will determine how much cam to throw at it. Talk to Scott and see what he says. If you call Comp, they will give you the same specs that they give everyone else for a modded magnum motor. 216/224 on a 114. That grind really isn't much different than the 210 cam really.

Thanks guys thats the kind of input i needed. Its basicly going to be a street truck that is race ocasinally so good torque in a nice broad powerband is what i need. Mainly looking for a cam that pulls good form 2400-6000
