JL makes a W1 shallow series. I picked up a 10" subwoofer with a box, and was able to remove the scissor jack and slipped it in behind the passenger seat. The main goal here was to make sure I don't lose much leg room for me or the passenger in the truck. This sub definitely helped with that. Therefore I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a little extra bass and not willing to lose leg room. Below is a picture of the exact enclosure I have but the picture is an 8" Sub.

There is also exact dimensions on crutchfield's site. I bought mine for $199 w/ a 10" sub but the 8" will pack a hell of a punch still

Passenger seat moved up about an inch maybe two. Not enough to make it a deal breaker
And the jack and tools are behind my seat now.

I see that, just looked it up. fits UNDER the seat?! it has no box!!! how does it sound with no box? everything I've read has said you need a box.

also it is listed as an "active sub" what does that mean? everything I've seen advertised has been "single voice coil" "dual voice coil" etc. haven't seen anything listed as "active"

this may be just what I needed to bump up the bass in my truck for that awesome sound I've been wanting!!

the alpine components sound great, but again, I just need that '3rd dimension' to my sound!

thats exactlly what I wanted, nothing to rattle the mirrors, but just to give you that nice low end. I have an alpine component speaker system and alpines in the rear with a JVC HU. Ok, I like the subwoofer because it already has an amp, rated best in its class, I mounted mine behind driver's seat. Also if your HU has pre amps output then just get yourself a set of rca cables, really easy to install. Also had an automatic shut off so its turns off I believe after a minute without use. Active sub means its powered by its own amp. Passive means no amp and uses the amp from the hu which won't be as powerful. Ill try to get pics

Kicker and soundstream both do a slim line series of subs that come complete with boxes, as i said above the kickker goes hard in my rc behind the drivers seat (plus gives a nice back massage) however, i have heard the soundstream slimline in its factory box and boy did i want it right then and there!! these are a definate must for a rc dodge truck as they do fit nicley behind the seat.i would suggest a sub cover though as my kicker when coming out fully would touch the back of the seat and was damaging the sub, changed seats to a late model subaru set now and no more problems,

Is this the kicker you have? It's only 6 3/4" deep at the bottom, that's not bad.

Anyone ever use the soundstream stealth setup? Only 5" deep with a 13.25" sub. They're on ebay for $160 shipped.
