Last year I originally ran my new fuel lines through the tranny tunnel as it was the best way to keep them away from the headers...As soon as I did it I realized it was a dumb ass move...But I left em anyway.
This week I removed em to do it the NHRA rule book way, but now I'm faced with the original problem of how to run the lines and still clear the headers.
Looks like the best clearance I can get is 3 inches right at the collector, the rest of the line is further away.
How close is too close?
I have some DEI heat reflecting cool tubes I plan to wrap the lines with, and I could also fab up a shield, I just don't want to roast the thing.

I'm gonna rerun mine when the cell goes in. Thinking about putting them on the outside of the framerail, just to be safe, engine supply down the driver's side, nitrous supply down the passenger side.

3" seems like plenty of room.
You cant come off the frame rail right up to the firewall??

I thought about that, but the big ass body mounts gets in the way of snaking the line back up to engine bay without going between the cab and the frame...I figured that would be a bad idea.

That's what I'm doing, it's still close to the headers right where the fire wall starts. I'm good everywhere else.
I just made a few marks where the line needs to run, pulled the engine (it's out anyway) so I have better access to everything. Now I can cut the 1" lip where the firewall meets the tranny tunnel to give me a little more room and smooth things out. I think I'll bend that lip back all the way across the tranny tunnel in case I want to use a CSR tranny shield.

I had my fuel lines run up the trans tunnel when I was mocking-up my exhaust and trans swap. I ran into the same issues as you running the fuel lines up the frame rail. I think 3" is more than enough. I got a little more room by running the fuel lines between the frame and the body right by the fire wall and coming up behind the brake booster and across. I am going to fab-up a heat shield if things look like they are getting too warm, but I think it is going to work fine.
I am running -10 feed and -8 return btw.

(NHRA rule books states you can run stainless steel braded lines in the tranny tunnel area or the explosing area. They are the only ones you can run without a sheild.)

You can?
Well hell....I'm done.:burnout:
EDIT: still gonna move em, makes me nervous with a 727 sitting under the fuel lines.
